I was banded 4-12-12 and I feel like I can eat anything. I really dont understand what I should be eating/drinking to stay on track. I have a hard time getting my Water intake. I just cant get it in but prior to surgery I drank a gallon of water daily. My typical day is a Protein Shake for Breakfast, for lunch cottage cheese and yogurt or Soup and then my evening meal is a low sodium weight watcher or equivilent meal blended in the blender. I might have a snack of sugar free popcicle or sugar free pudding. I really feel I could eat solids. Any suggestions?

Do you have any post op appointments with a nutritionist? I was banded on the 13th and have post op appts with my nutritionist at 2, 4 & 6 weeks post op with more later but farther apart. I have only seen her once since surgery but it was very helpful for me.

You're in "bandster hell". Almost all of us go through this. Your band was left loose on purpose as you are in the healing phase of your journey. If you want to lose weight at this point, it's mostly going to be on you and a diet. You should feel this way until you start going in for fills. One fill may help you but most likely it could be several before you find your own green zone.

As far as eating solids, my doc gave me permission to eat solids 3 weeks after surgery. But each doc has their own different protocols. What you are feeling is natural and could be around for a while. I don't understand the Water intake problem though? If you can eat yogurt, shakes etc, why can't you drink Water? Makes no sense?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
