It took me about 4-5 days after surgery to sleep on my side. I tried it one day thinking it would hurt but it was fine.

Just curious...

I read on a few posts that people had no problems sleeping on their side/stomach or use pillow while sleeping in these positions. Has anyone tried sleeping on their side but feels like an abdomen muscle is being pulled (from the weight of your stomach)?

I was banded last Friday and I would love to be back on my side and stomach again' date=' but I don't want to do anything that might cause problems...[/quote']

I'm a side sleeper as well. Um I think it was about 5 days before I was able to lay on my side. I placed a pillow under my stomach to help hold my stomach up and slept great. But I had the pulling that you had as well. I hope this helps just try the pillow and see.

It took me about 2 weeks to sleep on my side... I would try all the time, but I would always feel a pain... Now I can finally sleep comfortably on my side... Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I was banded.... You have so much to look forward to!

I know! Patience is important, but darn it I want me some good sleep!

Thanks, I'll give this a try tonight. Hopefully it helps for now.

Hey all haven't posted in a while but I'm doing great since being banded may7th. Haven't lost or gained any weight and don't feel any restriction so I know I'm in what they call "bandster hell." I'm surprised to see ppl posting about trying to get fills so early' date=' I was told you couldn't get a fill until you start solid foods? well anyway next week I start solids, hopefully soon after I will get a fill. I feel like I'm not progressing but it's still soon. Glad to see all the new bandsters are doing well.

Well every Dr office is different I was back on solids by day 5-6 after my surgery. All I had to do was 2 days liquid 2 days mushy then progress back to solids. I'm sure if hadn't lost any weight I could have gotten a fill today but thankfully I have. By the time I go back in July things may change and I'm pretty positive I'll get a fill then.

And your still early in...I'm sure the weight loss will pick up! Good luck!

Lucky you! I tried the suggestion with sleeping on my side using a pillow to prop me, but it was a fail. I guess I'll have to wait a little bit more.

Hi guy's I wanted to share.. I got Banded on the 16th, and for the month of May <including pre op diet> I've lost 30 lbs !!! I'm so happy.. I'm already moving down in clothes sizes..!! I still have 145 lb to go, but this band ROCKS.. my surgeon started me with a 3.4cc fill.. and it's working well.. I can tolerate about 3/4 of a cup and I'm full for at least 4 hours.. and I'm continuing the shakes and keeping my Proteins high and my carbs low.. I'm very pleased with the results so far!! :D

I have heard soo many people say it took them months to feel any restriction which scares me. Did the full hurt much? Have you gotten sick from any foods now that you have liquid in your band?

I just started sleeping again on my left side. (port side). I feel a bit of a pull but it isn't so bad that I can't do it. I am just glad to be sleeping through the night again! good luck everyone!

Hi everyone I am new to this thread and site. I wish I had found this forum before my surgery. I was trying to read from the beginning but decided to get posting. I had my surgery on May 15th and including my pre op liquids which started on Apr 24th I have removed 26lbs!!

A really good friend told me not to say lose anymore...cause when you lose something you try to find it and lord knows I don't ever want to find that weight! Well good luck to everyone...I am going to head back to page 20 to catch up ;) I also tried to join the May group but is asking for a password.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
