My surgery was on May 15th and my first fill is on June 20th. I am nervous and excited at the same time. I guess I have been lucky that I have not had any issues with stuck food or pain. I gained 1lb this week so I am too ready for my fill. I am just starting to be hungry and can now eat more than I have been able to in weeks! I am going to keep my fingers crossed that things go as smoothly post fill.

I'm sure your fill will go just fine. :) i think my hunger is *slightly* lessened since my fill, and I haven't had any stuck episodes since. Then again I am even MORE paranoid now and am chewing like crazy, avoiding fluffy breads and dry looking meat completely. lol

What size band does everyone have? I only have 1cc of Fluid in an 8cc band. The Dr originally put in 3ccs but said that was actually too tight. I have not seen anyone around here that has as little Fluid in their band as I do. Hmm.

I got my first fill of June 14th and he put in 2.6cc. I am like you, I do feel slightly more restricted but not the green zone at all. He seems to be very cautious, which I guess is a good thing, but I am so anxious to have true restriction and see some real weight loss.

I'm actually doing my first fill tomorrow. My first fill isn't technically scheduled until July 11th, but I am supposed to start "regular food" tomorrow and well, I know right now I could eat WAY more than I am supposed (3 oz at dinner time). So yeah, it's time for a fill. She said that if I felt like I needed it earlier just to call and I did and I'm on my way in tomorrow. She said she is going to be very aggresive to get me into my green zone in the 90 days following my surgery. I mean we are already 28 days in today and no fill so it's going to have to be VERY aggresive in the next 60 days.

I don't know my bands full capacity but I did have my fill today and have 2.5cc. Dont feel any differences yet but we will see. It is amazing to me how so many surgeons vary in their approach I have seen some people had almost 4cc's put in on first fill..I rather be under filled than over.

I am doing well too. Just trying to adjust to my new normal, and not slip into my old ways. I am getting back into an exercise routine finally.

I agree... I'd rather be under filled than too tight. I only have 1cc but I notice if I space my meals out right and have 1 healthy snack a day, hunger isn't as big of an issue anymore.

I had my first fill today, I have 3cc in my band now. It took 5 sticks to get it right. My port is a "mover" as my nurse called it. I already knew that because when I lay down it turns on its side. I can feel and see the side of it actually poking out. as long as it does not flip! But it was hard to get it to lay flat to access it. The sticks hurt me, but some may have a better pain tolerance...but no regrets, it is worth it. Now, 2 days of liquids, 2 days pureed, 2 days soft and then regular food. So anxious to see how restricted I feel because I did not have much restriction before but could feel certain foods were not my friend, like lasagna and bread...no way. So I have lost about 16 pounds since my pre op visit which was on May 7th and 48 pounds total since February when I started losing before surgery. I know my body fluctuated during the 6 week healing phase which is officailly over today...yay!!! i can pick up my babies again which I have not been able to do. Well I did cheat a little. I think I lost a little, then gained, then lost again. So hopefully everyone else is still doing well.

That is great to hear Jackie's Girl!! I had my first fill last Thursday and it didnt hurt at all ...he did numb it first. I started off with 3cc's in my band when I had surgery. He put 1.6 cc's in on Thursday. Yesterday at lunch I was able to eat mushie prior to that I had to have liquids. Did fine eating yesterday now as for restriction I'm not sure if I have it. It really doesnt feel any different to me. I asked the doc about how it should feel and he said everyone is different. All I do is eat the allowed amounts for each meal and that is it....Just as long as I'm not hungry between meals I'm good to go..... so maybe that is my restriction. Now last night I think I felt full but I'm still trying to get a good feel for it.

My surgery was May 11th and I've lost 21 pounds since then and 28 since I started my pre op just under 2 weeks before surgery. Just as you I'm so excited about how eveything is going!! I am so blessed to be able to have this help in losing weight.

Have a great day!!

Tam

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
