Bad Luck No Exersize =(

Recommended Posts

I was suposed to have a p.e. class for college, and managed to mess up my knee tuesday (going to doctors this week to see how bad), the sad part of this, is i get to start mushi food next week so was also going to start hitting the gym, and now i can barely walk!

Then got depressed about the situation because said P.E. class that i injured myself in was horseback. I've ridden horses on and off all my life, then to realize that i had let myself get so heavy i can't even pull myself into a western saddle. =*(. Granted it was a very big and tall horse (would not have even tried had the horse not been big enough that he would have been able to hold said wait comfortably!) and i'm a short person, but that never had stopped me before. Very heart breaking moment for me. I keep telling myself, this is why i got the lapband to take care of this issue... but still was a let down.

Sorry just wanted to vent , about bad luck were people might understand!

Thanks for reading =)

I haven't been able to exercise since my surgery on 2/13 either. I was given the okay from my surgeon on 2/28, but I developed breathing issues from surgery, and the pulmonary doctor said no to exercise for the time being. It does suck when you are so motivated to make changes and you can't do anything about it. I feel your frustration!

well i hope your knee isn't to bad off. As for pulling yourself up into the saddle, you have taken a step in the right direction with this surgery. Don't let who you were get in the way of who you are becoming. if you have to use the step stool for now to get up there its just one more goal to meet in the long run. Keep your head up hun :)

Does your college have a pool. I had a really bad knee problem and the only exercise I could do was swimming. I highly recommend a Water proof mp3 player makes time go by so much faster (available on Amazon.).

Cynesra, I'm a rider, too. I started when I was 8 and rode and competed until I was 18. When I went to college, I had to stop due to lack of access. That's when I really started gaining weight (before that, I thought I was huge, but I soooo was NOT). After that, I let my weight keep me away from horses for years. 4 years ago, I said to hell with it and bought my own horse. I also looked for a big boy sturdy enough to carry me, but that means he's 16.2! I would never try to mount from the ground, and frankly, all of the places I've ridden at in the last 4 years use mounting blocks anyway for the safety of both horse and rider. Don't let the inability to ground mount get you down. Use a block and get the exercise. Riding burns plenty of calories and best of all, it's too much fun to feel like exercise!

Hope your knee feels better soon! :)

Thanks for understanding guys!

And for the pool , no, however i'm a member of the local YMCA, but still 4 weeks till i can swim yet *sighs*

As for mounting block, that probly would have worked, but they only had one of those tiny 8 inch ones, and this boy prob was 17 h tall. So i just set one of my goals, that by the end of the summer i will be able to get into a saddle. Its something to try for anyway!

As for the knee.... I have an MRI next week now *sighs* So i'm hoping for the best, my poor right knee has had 4 surgerys so i was rather hoping my left knee could remain whole and good!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
