Has anyone experienced pain or discomfort around their port? I've had a cough for a week or so and yesterday spent the evening with friends laughing really hard and when I went to bed owwww I could NOT get comfortable! I really thought I would never feel this thing. I had my surgery 5 months ago.

I am 15 months and 115 pounds post op and I still get port pain sometimes. It depends on how much I've eaten, what I've eaten, how much activity I've done and different positions I've been in. Postions meaning sitting all day, over reaching, or standing all day. If the skin around your port becomes red and or hot, and you suddenly have no restriction, then you should call your doctor asap. Good luck to you on your journey!

I have been told that sometimes the pain in the port area is caused since it is stitched to that muscle so when you tweek it then it causes it to hurt. Happens to me alot after I work out really hard core, especially if I am doing ab workouts. So if you have been coughing alot and then laughing for several hours after a few days of the coughing then that could very well be what it is. I mean I am no expert and this is what I have heard from other band patients, but really it does make sense.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
