i love salmon. i tend to like to fry it.. you can do it is spam or with a teaspoon of olive oil.. first marinate in a teriaki sauce put it in the pan for just a couple minutes on each side.. its so easy to make.. just watch the color of the fist go from a deep orange to a pink... keep basting it with the teriaki sauce.. is done in just a few minutes.. eat with a side of a steamed veggie and voila.. a meal you cook in less time than it takes to eat!!! thats my general rule of thumb. bon apetite.

I made this recipe up for salmon and love it.

Salt and pepper salmon

Place in pan skin side down w/ some olive oil Pam. Cook for 3 mins.

Flip and cook for another 3 mins

Sauce is a greek yogurt dill sauce on top. It's easy: fat free greek yogurt, fresh dill, salt, pepper, onion powder.

During the summer i put the salmon skin side down on tin foil, place the sauce on top, wrap the foil up and place it on the grill for about 7-10 mins. The sauce flavors it so nicely.

For mahi mahi or tilapia, I use this seasoning: http://www.spiceandtea.com/florida-sunshine-p-194.html Florida Sunshine. It's amazing. I've made a mango, pineapple salsa with these light white fishes that is yummy too.

you can usually find frozen orange roughy... I like just olive oil on the pan and seasoned with salt, pepper, and paprika, baked until flaked, and top with a little dash of hot sauce...

fortunately, I live on the coast, so the best fish recipe is to call for take-out!

my husbands diabetic and does most of the cooking, so we eat pretty healthy most of the time. we love fish, especially salmon- rub the salmon with a little "smart balance brand mayo" or diabetic friendly mayo, a tiny bit of brown sugar and a little no salt seasoning. bake or broil or barbq. delicious !

I grill fish with frozen veggies on side-- I also make salmon croquetes with drained canned salmon, egg, seasoning and the wholewheat baked crakers from wally world, and little bit of olive oil in pan for frying.

MY FAVORITE rish recipe which i make from time to time is broiled/baked cod!

I usually get two nice sized fillets ( not currently banded, but in process)

spray some non stick pam butter spray onto some tin foil

then i use emerils SOUTHWEST seasoning and generously coat the top of the fillets

and i cook them at about 350 for like 20 minutes or until the fish starts to flake apart without much effort, i personally find it delicious

i tend to only like white type fishes, but have only tried this with cod, dont know how it would be with flounder etc..goodluck!

I never cook fish because my DH and DS do not eat it. However, I found Starkist Seasation in the frozen section of my grocery store and I really like those. They have several different flavors and they are very bold in flavor. Only 90 cal per fillet too!

Here is a good recipe for cod or any white fish:

what you need:

1 egg

1/4 c milk

3-4 cod fillets

1/4 c breadcrumbs

1/2 c panko

Pam

beat one egg with 1/4 c milk

1/4c breadcrumbs with 1/2 c panko, season however you like (set aside)

rinse cod fillets and pat dry with paper towel

dip in egg/milk

coat in panko/breadcrumbs

lay on baking pan

spray lightly with Pam

bake at 425 degrees for about 15-25 minutes (depending on the thickness of the fillets)

(I usually mix 2 tbsp ketchup with 1/4 tsp horseradish for a cocktail sauce dipping sauce)

YUMMM-O

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
