  4. I pan fry talipia coated with ground flax seed. It is a little crunchy and very good.
  5. I'm at goal after 10 months. Loosing weight can be addictive, though. I am disappointed when I get on the scale now and don't see a loss!

  7. You know how amputees have phantom feelings in the removed parts? Well, I have phantom fat. I feel like a fat person in a Halloween costume! When I see myself in pictures, I look thin, but the mirror says "fat person". My husband wants me to stop loosing so that I don't have to buy more clothes!
  8. Have a good trip. I just got home from an air trip. I was a little scared because I had read that the band gets tighter because of the pressure. I felt nothing different, I'm happy to say.
  9. Hi I'm 62 but getting younger and healthier every day since lap band surgery . We may loose more slowly than the youngsters, but we will get there!
  10. I am 6 months post banding. Where I was once very black and blue, I now have gray discoloration. I've asked the surgeon, but he doesn't know. He suggested going to a skin doctor. Since I will never wear a bikini, I really don't care. But I am interested in knowing if anyone else has this.
  11. I've never had a problem before or after banding. Keep on doing what works for the both of you. The calories aren't enough to matter. I want to know how many grams of protein I'm getting from my "snack."
  12. Before surgery I was on 125 mcg of thyroxin. I am now at 100 mcg, and it might be lowered still. I've lost 56 lbs since surgery.
  13. coffee is one of my salvations! I wasn't allowed it until after the mushie stage, but I now drink it all the time.
  14. I've lost 54 pounds since I got banded. Only 12 to go! I've had 1 fill (2cc), but would like another to help me feel full faster. I can eat anything with no trouble, although I don't eat rice, Pasta or bread. Good luck with your band. It takes a lot of will power as well as the band, but the results are worth it.
  15. It sounds like you don't need a fill if you can only tolerate small amounts.
  16. I go to Dr. Nain from Bluepoint Surgical Group. They have an office in Woodbridge, VA.
  17. 102 pounds in 5 months! WOW!!! I've lost 50 in 5 months. I had 1 2cc fill 3 months ago. My doctor doesn't wait to give me another fill for another month. Boo Hoo. I don't, and never have felt restriction. So far my will power has been good, but I know I eat more than a cup at each meal and am afraid that my will is going to vanish. I NEED THAT FILL!!
  18. Welcome to the journey! I was banded (age 61) in April and have lost 50 pounds since then (20 to go!!). I've started to look good (not the fattest person in the room by far), and my health readings are fantastic (off blood pressure and cholesterol meds). I was a diet coke person and haven't had one since before the surgery, but don't miss it at all. I've traded it for Crystal Light peach mango. Since you can't drink for 30 min. before or 30 min. after eating, the soda has become less important. I survive between meals on Crystal Light, Water, or coffee. I've had one fill (2cc) in June, but my doctor refused to fill again since I lost 15 pounds in the 2 months between office visits. I feel no restriction at all, and am loosing TOTALLY on willpower alone. So far so good, but I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up. Best of luck to you with the surgery and after.
