I have a question??. I never been put asleep before' date=' I'm scared about that. That's my biggest fear. Some ppl say its like going to sleep for 10 minutes and waking up. Not knowing what happened, because its that quick. I get banded Thursday and I'm so scared about that. I'm just gonna pray like I have never prayed before. I have faith..[/quote']

I had never been put to sleep before either. It all turned out great. Everyone told me that I would start counting and then be out. I don't remember even counting...that fast. I woke up and everything was fine. I'll pray for your comfort.

They will give you a medication that sends you to Lala land in you iv. You'll probably be asleep before they actually put you to sleep... It's all very fast. You no sooner close your eyes than you are waking up. You will do great. If you're nervous when you arrive ask for something to calm you as soon as they start the iv

Judych-

Glad everything is going smoothly. I had mine on 3/19. Had 2 hernias repaired and a lot of adhesions removed. I think a was a lot more sore than I had prepared myself for. Took me an extra couple of days to recoup...but I'm feeling much better now. I am struggling with the all liquid diet now. I am very hungry and no its NOt head hunger. My stomach is grawling so hard and long that it has become painful. I finally ate a small amount of boiled Pasta. I stomach instantly stopped grawling. I felt so much better. Its not something Im going to start doing all day' date=' but Im just going to have to add a small amount of something to stop the hungry. I am still getting in all my Protein with the New whey Protein shots.[/quote']

Be so careful! I'm on Clear liquids for at least seven days... The way my md explained it, if you put anything in that pouch that the stomach has to work at, you will pop a stitch. If this occurs, you will have a slip. Maybe not now, or next week. But maybe next year when you get a stomach bug and throw up. The post op diet isn't a "tolerance" thing... It's a stomach rest thing. Just be careful!

I do fozzy. I believe it's the tissues knitting themselves back together, and inflammation of nerves. I support that area when I walk, change positions, or sit down or stand up from the toilet. Internal pressure pushes the area outwards, external pressure (hand, small pillow) helps to support the tissue

Thanks! I was starting to worry about it. It seems to come and go. I have my follow up appointment on Monday, so I will be able to ask the Dr.

Dear Ready..............I agree as nurses we are definitely chronically dehydrated. Well glad to be home anyway. My doc also thought we only had to lift 20 lbs not 59 so I guess i'll be home 6 weeks not 4. Definitely need the break.

Error 50 lbs

I hear ya, enjoying my break kinda been like a vacation for me.

I had the same fear, its really quick. They gave me a cocktail and I was so relaxed I think I was sleep before they actually put me too sleep. I prayed prior and put myself in God's hand. Til this day the last thing I remember was the cocktail. I even slept through my recovery period. Good luck.

what are the gas strips?? do you suck them?? ive never seen them at all.

I bought Gas-X Extra Strength chewable Tablets. I haven't had surgery yet but bought some after they were recommended in something I read. I checked with my surgeon's NP, and she said it was a good idea to have some on hand.

The box reads, "Gas-X Extra Strength Tablets offer fast, effect relief of pressure and bloating that antacids can't provide. They are specially formulated with simethicone, the antigas medicine doctors recommend most for pressure, bloating, or discomfort referred to as gas." There were two flavors available: Cherry Creme and Peppermint Creme.

I saw some at Target today when I was searching for liquid Tylenol.

Was banded yesterday. Came home the same day. Feeling pretty great. Just having slight gas pain now. Which I had originally had as I woke up from anesthesia. But I was given painkillers and it went away. Got Gas-X, so far I'm not sure if it is really helping.

i agree... couldnt you just boil up a potato and strain that with plenty of milk?? put some yoghurt in it?? a little skim milk?? im goimg to do that for tea tonight.. im starting to feel just a bit peckish.. but not sure if its coming from my tummy or my head. lol. anyway, so long as the potato is well and truly blended, has no lumps and i can get it up through a straw im right. i agree that its not easy at all. at the moment the gas is my biggest issue i think, although its not as bad as some have had it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
