My surgery is 8/3 I'm very excited but a little scared my love affair with food may be ending lol I've been on the opti fast 4 days with veges and some fruits berries etc. Although I know it's just portion sizing that changes, right? all I can say is thank god for diet soft drinks.< /p>

I ate at golden corral last night, it was a mistake and I did over eat or feel that i did. I had a tsp of a variety of foods mainly veggies no starches, baked meats and chocolate dipped marshmellows. I feel bad but I'm not gonna penalize myself since I've have been on pre-op diet since 1/16. Back on track today for surgery fri, need to stay focused.

True Results in Scottsdale, AZ. I've been more or less preop dieting for a month. The first month, I wasn't super strict on it...there were a few days where I'd cheat a bit, but not a lot. Just a roll here, some Pasta noodles there. That kind of thing. I've been more strict with it since Thursday. I have a shake for Breakfast, a shake for lunch, a snack, and a meal. To be honest....I usually don't even have the snack. And my meals....that's the hard part. I'm not 100% sure how much I should be eating of what. So, I'm usually pretty careful. 6-8oz of Protein and a half a cup to a cup of a veggie. Last night was probably the most I had....8 oz of meat, 1 c. of fried cabbage, and half a cup of green Beans.< /p>

I also gave up soda a month ago, since I know that I won't be able to have it after surgery. I thought it would be horrible, because I was addicted to Mt. Dew, but...it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. The worst part is when we are baking Cookies in the office for our residents...it smells SOOOO GOOOD, but I can't have any.

MissManders, Sounds like you have doing well. I was addicted to Coke and when I found out I was diabetic in October, I switched to Coke Zero. Now I have given that up. I gave it up pretty easily but know how easy it would be for me to get back into that habit.

Nights are the worst for me and wanting to snack. I grew up snacking and watching TV especially at night. So I am trying to break that 37 yr habit. This is day 2 of my pre-op diet and I am starved. My smell has intensived and everything smells 110% more yummy. lol.

I have heard that you can drink them but the air bubbles hurt (feels like gas pains). My addiction at the moment is SF Kool-aid. My co-workers all ask me what I am drinking and when I tell them SF Kool-aid they make a face and ugh.. :-p When I would drink coke, I would hear "If you would cut out your Coke, you would lose weight." Now that I have cut it out, they still don't like what I drink..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
