February Bandsters?

I know there's a special section for this, but it doesn't seem to be too popular so I'll give it a whirl here..

Anyone here to be banded in February besides me?

My surgery date is February 15th.

Feel free to add me on Facebook for support, etc. =]

Wow! What a great phone call! Good luck to you tomorrow!!!

Just got the call and my surgery is tomorrow 2/15 at 11:30am!!!!!!

Congrats-

Jenn, I also have only told a few people; my parents, my sister who has the band, my cousin who has the band, my two best friends, and of course my husband and kids. As far as anyone else is concerned they can think what they want. If people ask me what I am doing I am just going to tell them I am eating smaller and healthier meals, and excercising more. People get so weird when you tell them about it. I guess it is because they are not educated on the subject. Well, good luck to you!

Hey Sass...

I go the same day!! I added you as a friend so we can compare notes if you would like. Good Luck to you!!

Support is ALWAYS welcome. :0)

That sounds great to me. I have to keep telling myself this is REALLY happening! And my low carb eating starts tomorrow. I pray that God will help me ( and all of us here) to be successful in each step of the way. I just hope I dont mindlessly put something sweet in my mouth- forgetting! Getting more nervous by the day. How ' bout you?

Bundle of nerves. Less than 24 hours until surgery... thinking I will turn on early. I doubt I will sleep at all tonight.

Good luck with your surgery sweetsoutherngirl!!!

I also had a hernia fixed while they were in there but haven't had too much pressure in my chest. Lots of pressure in my lower abdomen however like in my intestines. Guess they aren't used to what I'm putting in their yet and hope that all gets regulated soon. Other than that, I am doing great. No pain meds and the pain in my legs has finally subsided. Now I can walk more. Hope you get to feeling better but if it doesn't pass, call the doctor or pa. They will let you know what should be normal or not.

Thank goodness it went away! Tomorrow is one week since surgery and everyday gets better and better. Thank god for gas-x strips and walking! lol Good luck all!

I go between nervous and excited. I start the pre-op diet tomorrow too but I have mixed in the protein drinks since last Friday to get use to them. They are so sweet and thick...gag me!! But I found the adkins ones taste ok and aren't so damn thick lol. I am not a sweet eater. more a sandwich eater lol.

Good luck to everyone and especially us Leap Year banders!!

Good luck with your surgery sweetsoutherngirl!!!

Thank you!!biggrin.gif

Hey everyone! I figured I'd let every body know how I've been doing! Surgery was on Feb 8th...exactly one week ago tomorrow. I feel awesome. I saw the doctor today, and he has me on the purred stage of eating now. As far as right after surgery goes, I hardly had any gas pain...never had to use the gas x...I think its because my surgeon is so awesome really...he did an amazing job....I never got that awful shoulder pain that everybody talks about...I was in pain a little longer than I thought, and my incisions are a bit sore but they are still healing, and itchy now.

He gave me 5 incisions all tiny except one and they are more under my boobs than on my stomach, which I love! They are going to heal up and you won't even be able to see them! I have been nauseous... and its only been the past 2 days...it was not at all after surgery. I think its because I haven't been eating as much. Or it could be cuz the fact that my whole family has been puking...but I haven't puked thankfully. I saw my surgeon today and he said the nauseous feeling is probably from not getting enough calories in...so he told me to get as much as I could in...with the purrees....which has been going great, everything has been going down fine, and I have cravings of course but its not too bad. Its going away now that I'm eating more.

The best part- I have lost 12 POUNDS SINCE MY SURGERY DATE! 12 POUNDS IN LESS THAN A WEEK! All together before surgery- I've lost 40 POUNDS! I am sooo pleased and so is my surgeon...he is very happy with my results and I will be seeing him every week...he says I should have another 4 pounds off by next week even if I was eating 2000 calories a day which I'm not sure about...but I'm sure I will loose more than that! I'm soo happy with things right now! I was really happy to be under 300, nevermind that I weigh 289 now!!!! :D

Good luck to you sweetsoutherngirl, and phatkatblue! I will sned good thoughts your way!! Let us all know how it goes.
