1. Hello Debra. It is great to hear from you. I too had my surgery in Tijuans. Dr. Ortiz was my surgeon. It went great. Good luck to you tomorrow, and I can't wait to hear from you. I think it would be great to be buddys!
<img border="0" src="
2. Hello. I am a 35 year old woman. I am a stay at home mom. I have a 7 and a 4 year old, (and a 42 year old). When I started my pre-op diet I weighed 234 lbs. I had my surgery on the 17th of Feb. I got my first fill on March 27, and I am struggling. I have been fluckuating between losing 21 and 24 lbs. for about a month now. I work out 5 days a week for 1-2 hours a day. I eat right, and I just don't get what is going on. I just need someone to talk to, or some advice or something. It is just really frustrating losing and gaining the same lb. or 2 over and over again. Please help. I am a very down to earth open minded person. If you would like to be my mentor/buddy, I am here. And would love to talk. Have a great day!
3. I am a self payer. I had mine done in Mexico with Dr. Ortiz for the 4995k. Which is a great price. The surgeons are great. Some of the best in the world on weight loss surgeries. The surgical hospital was super nice, very clean, and everyone is so friendly. It was a great experiance. The problem is that now that I need a fill no one in my area will touch a band done in Mexico. (they act like we had it sdone in the back alley or something) Anyways, I will be traveling 3 hours to the next state to have my fills. I will be staying overnight in case I need some removed or something. So in the long run I may be paying as much or more for my surgery than the people in the states. Thanks Idaho for not doing my fill. Anyways explore your options and good luck to you. I do not regret my choice however. It has already changed my life, and I only had it done in Feb.
4. I started at the gym almost 2 weeks after surgery. But only the treadmill, and a little of the bike. Today was my first day doing weight reps. Friday will be 5 weeks post op. Even with working out, I am not really losing. I have lost maybe 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I go in for my first fill next week, and really hope I have restriction. I am not sure after reading everyones posts if I will or not. But treadmill should be fine, if you feel like it. Maybe not running. Good luck!
5. I am starting an auquasize program in the morning. I have been working out at the gym for 3 weeks. The treadmills overlook the pool, and I just want to dive in. I have lost lost 22 lbs, but I am still insecure. I bought a new suit yesterday and tomorrow I will start my croos training. Jump in the pool and enjoy your time excercising. Good luck!
6. Kassie, I had surgery last friday, and last night was the first night I slept great, with no pain at the port. And I have been on Ibruprofen for the last 2 days. It does get better. Day 3 was my worst day. The gas in my chest is pretty much gone now also. Hang in there, it will go away as your body heals.

I am so glad that your surgery went well. Best wishes to you and congratulations!!
8. I love when my 3 year old tells me that I am fat, and huge. Kids are so honest!! Oh but what I really hate is when my friends and family tell me, "You are not obese, you are beautiful". Come on people be honest, I mean you don't have to be so honest as my 3 year old, but I can handle it. I can look in the mirror, and I can read a scale!
9. I am so happy that it all went well Amanda.(Besides the mucus) I sure hope that I am lucky and have little to no pain after surgery!
10. I am just sick and tired of not going to see my friends because I feel like they are all thinking how fat and gross I look. I am sick and tired of not volunteering at my daughters school because I don't want her friends to make fun of her for having a fat mom. I too am sick and tired of not being in photos and looking like an absent parent in my childrens lives. I could go on and on. I can't wait to not have any of these feelings anymore. The day is coming soon that I will not be sick and tired! Good luck all!
11. Congratulations! Enjoy your journey, and keep us all updated. We are here for you! url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w1DsH1x/] [/url]

16. Hello Andy. I also get banded on Friday! Yae for us!! I just joined these forums last week. And I have to say the people here are awesome. There is so much good information, and positive words. We all need all the support we can get. Good luck to you. We will have to keep in touch with eachother!
17. I am going to the store to look for it. Have a great day!!
18. I think we will always love food. We just have to learn to eat to live not to live to eat. Good luck on your consultation! Let us know how it goes. Change can be really good! I also have anxiety, but your doctors will know before hand, and help you relax. And, it is ok to be a little scared, afterall it is unkown territory (for now).
19. Wow 45 grams of Protein? That is a hell of a lot of protein in a shake. I will have to try and find it, to try. Thanks. My pre-op diet is almost over. And then the 3 weeks of liquids start. Woo-hoo.

Good luck Dee. It sounds like you are in a great mind set, and you are lucky to have someone guide you through it. You sound so positive. Hernia surgeries are hard to recover from, so don't push yourself take the time you need to recover . My surgery is this friday, the 17th. I am so excited. I wish you luck!
24. Dr. Ortiz is doing my surgrey this upcoming Friday. I am excited, a little worried about the flights home. I live in Idaho, so I have a few airports to go through the day after surgery. Good luck. What tests do they run before surgery there?
25. I am so sorry your friends are so negative, and hurtful towards your journey to health and happiness. We all deserve better friends than that. I haven't been banded yet, I will be a week from today. I am kind of ashamed of myself for not letting all of my friends and family know. I just don't want people to treat me that way. My best friend and her husband know, and they are so happy that I have decided to make this change in my life. But, the truth is I am really scared at how people will look at me, and react when I do lose all my weight. On one hand I really don't care because I am doing this to be healthy and to live a long life with my kids and husband. But, we all care how our friends make us feel right? Anyways, stand your ground, and when the time comes for me to, I know I will. Best wishes, be proud of your achievements, and don't let anyone take them away from you!
