  1. I was banded on February 20th of this year, so 5 months and 8 days out and I've lost 65 pounds with about another 100 to go!
  2. How often do you see your doctor? What has he/she said? How much fill do you have?
  3. Hey everyone. I had my surgery on 2/20 of this year and I've lost 50 pounds so far and going strong. I'm at 5cc in a 12cc band, and I can go about 6 hours between meals without eating. However for the past few days I will eat and then be starving 2-3 hours later! Does anybody know what is with the sudden change? My next appointment is July 3rd for my monthly fill/checkup, should I ask to get in sooner? Thanks!
  4. My doctor required I take a week off (even though my job is at an optical shop so I walk some but nothing real physical) but I felt good enough that if I could have I would have gone back like... 2-3 days after my surgery.
  5. I'm not saying this to offend anyone, but it's just my opinion. I tell family/friends or if people ask how I've been losing weight because I feel like people who don't tell want everyone to think that they did it all on their own and that's not true. If you could do it on your own, you wouldn't have needed the band. I just feel like it's kind of selfish to say "Oh, just a different diet" or "Oh, just eating better" when that's not the only reason why you are loosing weight; it's because you had surgery.
  6. I had my mom take my measurements before my surgery. I'm not embarrassed nor ashamed about my size; it's a problem and I'm fixing it.
  7. I don't think there is really a limit to that, just whenever you feel up for it.
  8. It sound like you have less to lose. I had about 120 pounds to lose, banded on 2/20/12, lost 35 pounds so far with 3cc, but it sounds like I have more to lose. The less you need to lose, the slower it comes off.
  9. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and the surgery was 17,000 and I paid 647 once all the bills came in, which gave me free fills and office visits for life so I don't ever have to pay a co pay or anything.
  10. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and after I did my supervised diet and my testing I submitted on a Tuesday and got approved on that Tursday.
  11. Sunday weigh in: uhhhh. I already blew past my goal. I had another fill and it's really working for me; I'm at 318, 8 pounds in a week!
  12. I think it depends on the maturity of the teen. I wouldn't suggest wls for any under 18 but I am 19 and have done just fine with it.
