Self pay / How much?

Recommended Posts

I am so unhappy, I hate my self. I can't go on for too much long like this. Can someone tell me how much it is in California or a Doctor in Tijuana, please.

I paid $17,500 in Louisville KY and it includes 1 year followup care. I think Dr. Pleatman sounds like a great deal I wish I lived near his area.

I guess i should have done more research to see that the prices are so different. I didn't think twice... drove to the bank got my loan and completed everything in about two weeks.

It was $12,500 when I had it done in April of this year in Utah. That covers the surgery and the first fill. Fills after that are $200.

I just paid $17,000. In St. Petersburg, FL Dr. Rehnke

$10K for the hospital (overnight)

$5K for surgeon

$1K for surgeon who oversaw

$1K for anesthesiologist

I was told the lapband itself costed about $4K - I assume I bought that from the hospital.

This includes all post op testing and monthly dr visits and fills for 1 year.

It's a lot of money but I believe it will be worth it. HOPE so!

I've lost 25 lbs in 3 weeks - 70 more pounds to go!

Jenn

I also had mine done in Louisville but my cost was $18,500. (gosh, cashley how did you get that $1,000 discount? :-) It does include the year followup. I never thought twice about it though. My husband just says that for 18,500 if I slack he has the right to kick me in the butt! LOL

I had Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey and it was $8,000 for everything and fills are free. I had a great experience, but would only recommend doing the Mexico route if you have aftercare lined up.

That's right $9950 includes Doctor fees for placement of LB, surgical assistant, anesthesiologist, 3 months follow up care and adjustments. Pre-op and post-op consultation with nutritionist. Check out WWW.lapbandrockies.com or 303-695-1304 Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum.

I've only just made my initial consult appt. but will follow up with any more info I find out.

Dr. Fielding at NYU Medical Center said the cost was 23,500. That DOES NOT include the 275 non refundable fee for the psychologist or the 325 dollar fee for the nutritionist, all pre-op. I know they have payment plans, but hey, this is New York City. I am doing self pay (well, parents will help me out). So, this is my route.

I just went to my first consultation last week (Tennessee). The self pay price that I was given is $17,995.00, not including fills which are like $228.00 each time. ($11,725 to the hospital, $5000.00 to surgeon, the rest is radiology and aneshtesiology fees) YIKESS!!!! Praying that my insurance will approve!

Two years ago in Iowa I had it done in a hospital for around 18,000. That did not include any fills. I've had one fill since then at 200 dollars.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
