One week Post Op & 16lbs LOST!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, yes it's true, much to my disbelief I stepped on the scale this morning, exactly 7 days to the hour of my last weight in prior to surgery and I am down 16 pounds. It was one of the most amazing moments in my life. I actually stood there staring at the scale and all I could do was cry. Happy tears of course but I literally cried for 5 minutes. I actually stepped off the scale and stepped back on because I wasn't sure I was believing what I was seeing. It is the most amazing feeling in the world. There is no doubt that the past week hasn't been easy, a fair amount of pain and discomfort and all liquids, but when you see something like this, it makes it all sooooo worth it. I know I won't lose this kind of weight each week, I probably won't ever lose this much again, but to see it one time makes it such a great start for me. Just wanted to share my happiness will all of you out there. God bless you all!!!!

Yeah! that is awesome! congrats to you. feels great huh! i know when i lost 22 lbs in a few weeks, i was estatic. but my surgeon's nurse remindied me the first few weeks was not about loosing weight, but about healing. still felt good though. :) LOL

anyways, keep up the good work, you should be on mushies soon and believe me creamy Soups never tasted so good until then.

Sending you well wishes on your new journey to your new life.

Congrats to all of us that were banded last week! I was banded on 8/23/11 and I am down 14 pounds. Started the creamy liquids today and I am really having tummy issues. I think its the milk products that are the problem. The creamy mushroom Soup was so good too!

I don't know about all of you (banded recently) but I am SO READY to chew again. LOL!! I have been on liquids for 9 days and would give anything for a scrambled egg or cottage cheese!! I have my two week follow up appt next Tuesday and am hopeful she will tell me I can start "mushies". Hope you are all hanging in there :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
