So, I stepped on the scale this morning and boy was I surprised. I have lost a total of 26# since my first visit with Dr. McDowell (7/20/11). Can I just say this man is AMAZING. I am so happy I did this. I put on jeans today that I have not worn in more than 9 months. I am so happy with my band. I withstood both Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Kreme donuts this week at work. And the scale rewarded me. As did my closet of Multiple sizes. Time to Celebrate. Think I'll have a Protein Shake.< /span> :D

Hi Trish...congratulations...im being banded on tuesday and was wondering what Protein shake you are having?

GNC has their version of muscle milk lite and it is really good. Also, I lucked out and found at Big Lots of all places A shake by Jilian Michaels that meets all the requirements and is pretty good. Now that I am able to eat regular foods (10 days post op) I don't do too many shakes but have them on hand just in case. My post op diet was very lenient. I was on regulars by day 7.

Good Luck to you. It's will be the journey of a lifetime.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
