Hi-

I am scheduled for 6/3/10. I am also excited but very nervous. I will have one more support meeting before my big day so I am hoping they will b able to help me with the nervousness.

How are you doing with the pre-opt diet ?

I am having a very hard time with it today .

Hi!

I'm getting banded June 4, one week from today:thumbup:

The 2 week liquid diet sucks... but worth it. I go through days of being hungry and then not hungry. But i seem to be having trouble dropping the pre surgery weight despite water and exercise?

Is anyone else having problems?

I only had to do the pre-opt diet for 7 days before surgery, I am on my 3rd day because I started a day early.

I have only lost 5 lbs so far since my journey started at the end of march. I probably shpuld have started then with healthier eating and exercise but I did not. I have come full swing on board the last 2 weeks though.

I hope all goes well for you.

Hey KBertinelli-

I am also scheduled on the 3rd of June...

This preopt diet is a bit tough but I just keep reminding myself of why I am doing this.

Hang in there we can do this .......!

I start my true low fat low carb protein diet on June 1. I have tried for the past two weeks to be good, but the last two days I have cheated...I think it's because I know June 1rst is coming up soon... I get banded on the 14th and I'm getting nervous.

Dallen!

thanks for your input... i was on the diet 3 days and lost 5 pounds then the next day i gained 2! I'm freaking out thinking that how can i gain weight on 800 calories a day and worse yet is how can i lose weight with the band if i'm gaining on the liquid diet!!

I wrote the nutritionist at my doctor office and was almost in tears and explained the situation. She just told me to stay off the scale because there are sooo many things that can affect your weight from day to day... i / WE must all get off the DISTRUCTIVE DIET mentality... that's what probably got us here to begin with... i just have to look at more than the scale and celebrate small victories, even if i expect more and settle in for the long haul... it's about the end result, not the day to day .... problem is i want potato chips!!! UGH:angry:

I'm scheduled for surgery June 7 and I am really excited. I have read a lot of posts on this site. I can relate to a lot of the pre-op diet feelings. This is day 5 of my 2 week pre-op diet schedule and today was actually a good day. I went through the faint feelings and headaches on day 2 and it has progressively been better thus far. My diet consisted of 2 high protein, low carb shakes and one frozen entree' that had certain parameters. Next week I will drink four protein shakes daily and no solid foods. I can have all the sugar free popsicles, jello and crystal light along with 64 oz of water that I want. I just started having popsicles and jello yesterday. I just keep my mind on the ultimate goal. My support system has been great as well. I'm looking forward to reading the postop experiences as well. Good luck to everyone. We should stay in touch and plan some big party in a great place this time next year. I'm ecstatic

This sounds good to me .

Jello wasn't own my list....I have to talk with the nurse tomorrow about that.

I just feel like I should be chewing but I guess chewing is what got me in this mess to begin with huh....LOL:rolleyes:

Hi all! I get banded on June 8th. I'm really nervous about it because it has all gone by so fast. I only had my first consultation a week ago! Right now i'm at 202 and want to get down to about 130. I hope with everyone's support I can do it! This past month has been a whirlwind. I graduated college a few weeks ago, got my first professional job and I'm having lap band. Man am I excited!

Seems like alot of us are being banded on June 14th!! Hey, we need a name for us new June Bandsters!!!

There are a lot of us....I'm so excited....starting my pre-op diet on Monday...hopefully these next 2 weeks go by fast. I don't even think I'm nervous about it yet. I feel like I've waited for this for so long I can't believe it's finally here.

I'm getting banded on June 14 too! I'm meeting with the dietician on Tuesday and I'm interested to see what he says. No one has said anything about a preop diet, but I've read in some posts that some have had to do a 2 week protein shake diet.

Anyone else not no anything about this preop diet?

On day 6 of pre-op diet. I've been doing good and have actually lost 10 pounds since I started. I'm sure most of it is water weight, but I will take weight loss however it comes. Surgery is next Friday and I am starting to get nervous. Mostly ready to get this journey started and to get some days off of work.:cursing: Some of you guys are getting so close. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts this weekend because I am sure you guys are more nervous than I am. Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.

Hi, I am getting banded on June 14th. I am very excited! I am counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds. :cursing:

I'm getting banded on the 14th of June as well! We have to keep in touch!!! We need a good name for ourselves!!!!

Well, I must say that I am so excited. I posted earlier about losing 10 pounds since Sunday, but I took my measurements and couldn't be more excited. Neck - 0.5 inches, Arm - 0.25 inches, Thigh - 1.5 inches, Breast - 2.75 inches,:cursing: Waist - 2 inches, Hips - 2 inches for a total of 9 inches lost in 6 days. YIPPEEE, for me. lol

Hey if any of you guys hasn't found it on your own you can go to realizemysuccess.com and find a website set up by the makers of the realize band (Johnson and Johnson). You can log your food diary, record your weight and measurements and a bunch of other features. I really am enjoying using it and it is free.
