Today is my second day on my all liquid diet. Saw the doc yesterday and he said everything is perfect. My sister in law had her baby this morning. 9lbs 7oz all natural! CRAZY...but that baby is such an Angel. Love her to pieces already!

Im struggling with this liquid diet... I keep telling myself its just 3 more days now but I come from a family of BIG eaters everything is surrounded by whats to eat and when are we eating again and whats for dinner while stuffing your face with lunch. My husband keeps asking permission to eat because he doesnt want to eat around me.... and im HUNGRY....*sigh* but I will remain strong and stick to it....the process is worth the outcome in the end.... as someone else said.... one day we will all laugh about this in our bikini's!

Looks like the 28th is going to be the big day for alot of people. I had my pre-op appointment today - I'm beyond excited. I really can't believe it's going to happen! I pulled out a pair of jeans I bought when I was on a crash diet a few years ago...still have the tags on them. I'm so excited to wear them. I know it will be a long journey and wearing those pants is a long way off, but I have so much hope for the future! I know that I'm doing this for my health, but I can't pretend not to be excited about the vanity part of it! Cheers and good healing everyone!

I'm scheduled for Monday, June 28th too! I can't believe it is finally here. I was supposed to have it done in March, but developed Appenditis and had to have my appendix removed emergently. My surgeon made me wait 3 MONTHS, which seemed like an eternity! I've been doing the liquid diet for 5 days now and have lost 11 pounds! I'm just ready to start this journey of weight loss. Good luck to all my fellow bandsters on Monday! This is the start of a new life for all of us!

Good luck to those of you who are scheduled next week! I will keep you all in my thoughts! I had mine on Thursday and got out of the hospital late last night (6/25). I almost had to stay a second night due to throwing up but I was abel to keep some Water down so they let me go. Surgery went ok, they fixed a larger hiatal hernia which requried another inscision. I am quite sore but just taking liquid Tylenol as the stuff they prescribed me makes me throw up. The gas if by far the wrost part..My left shoulder is screaming with the gas leaving it! I my stomach looks like someone took a baseball bad to it...if my surgeon was shocked when he came and checked me yesterday so my stomach is feeling pretty sore. Again Good luck and check back in when your on the other side! BTW, my doctor gave me pictures of the surgery (inside my stomach) showing me my hernia, showed me how and where he placed the band..I thought that was pretty cool!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
