  1. I was banded 6/14 and have had one fill since then. I currently have 4cc in a 10cc band. I too do not feel any restriction. I have lost weight but it really hasn't had anything to do with the band. I mentioned at my last weigh-in that I want another fill and the nurse was apprehensive since I lost 10# in one month, but it would be nice to have the band as an aide instead of working with just will power. I didn't go thru all of this for nothing! I think you (and I) need another fill. I go 9/15 for another weigh-in, at which time I will insist on a fill! Good luck and it's nice to know I'm not the only one with this problem!
  2. I was banded on June 14th and have only had one fill, which I now have 4cc's in a 10cc band. I too can finish an entire grilled chicken salad. The only difference I felt after my last fill was that I really need to be careful about chewing food well, but as far as restriction goes, I haven't noticed a difference. I too have only lost about 20 pounds since surgery. It will be nice when the band actually makes a difference with the weight and amount of food that I am able to eat. Looking forward to restriction!
  3. I wasn't prescribed the low calorie diet, but it seems that if I eat more than that, I gain weight. I am just trying to stick to 3 small meals a day. I go for my 2nd post-op appointment tomorrow, so I will see what the surgeon has to say. THanks for the info!
  4. I understand exactly how you feel! I was banded on June 14, 2010 and have only lost 5 pounds since then. I am only eating about 500-600 calories per day. I am wondering if this is even going to work for me. People keep telling me that I may not be eating enough to lose weight, so I can't help but wonder what is going to happen when I have restriction and can't even eat that much?! They really didn't prepare me for the fact that there would be minimal weight loss after surgery. I was losing more weight before the band!
  5. I was banded on June 14, 2010 and haven't really had any problems so far. It was easier than I expected. I am still on liquids and have my first post-op appt. tomorrow. I can't wait to eat real food again! Good luck to all of you future banders!
  6. I am right there with you as far as frustration goes! I lost 15 pounds during the 2 week pre-op liquid diet, then gained 13 pounds in 2 days while in the hospital having the surgery. I have lost all of that, and only one pound more! I have seriously eaten less than 500 calories per day, mostly liquids. I was banded on 6/14/10 and I am getting very disgusted. My first post-op appt. is tomorrow so we shall see if this is normal or not. I even sat and watched my entire family celebrate my birthday with food and cake and I didn't eat one bite!
  7. I was banded on June 14, 2010 and have only lost 2 pounds in two weeks! Is this normal? I am getting very frustrated. I have my first post-op appt. tomorrow and I can't wait to see what the doctor says about the weight loss. Any suggestions?
  8. Thanks for the advice... I am still on the clear liquids until the 28th when I see my surgeon for my first follow up appt. I did; however, go to GNC and get unflavored whey protein powder and added it to a bottle of water along with a sugar free koolaid packet and it isn't bad. It has 20g of protein per scoop, so I put one scoop in the bottle. It looks a little strange, but the taste is actually pretty good.
  9. I was banded on June 14, and feel exactly the same way. I am beginning to think that the doctor forgot to put the band in place! Just kidding, but I am hungry all of the time and my stomach does not feel any different. It is so hard cooking for the family and watching them eat, when I truly feel that I could be eating what they are. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it!
