  1. I have had sort of a similar experience. I have motility issues with my esophogus, which was not diagnosed pre-surgery. Sometimes I can eat everything in sight without restriction, but most days, I can't take more than 2 bites without having to run and throw it up. Life has been really hard post-band. I have lost 50 lbs, but only through becoming a forced bulemic. Im sorry to hear about your issues, sounds like there is a small percentage of patients that have unexplained complications.
  2. Is this normal? I take two bites and i have pain in my chest? Do you think 3 CCs was too much for a first fill? Can it really be the swelling 6 days later? I really hope that it's not always going to hurt when i eat. Have a follow up tomorrow, maybe i need 1 CC taken out? how many did you have in your first fill. is it suppose to hurt? please advise.
  3. i will do my best to get in 64oz. so far i have gotten down 16 for the day, but now im afraid i wont be able to eat lunch or dinner. i guess i will wait until i go see him on tuesday (for my post port revision checkup) and see how i feel by then.
  4. thanks. i am drinking water but taking very smalls sips and am able to get down enough to keep me hydrated. but like this morning, when i tried to drink a shake for breakfast, right away, after two sips i felt really tight.. i really want to eat.
  5. I had my first fill 3 days ago (after a port revision surgery) and only have 3cc in a 10cc band. I am having a really hard time putting anything down (even water!). I am super thirsty and hungry but feel a tight pain in my chest like something is always getting stuck. is this normal, will it eventually give in? is it that maybe im still recovering? please advise.. should i go and get a cc taket out? i want to eat!
  6. thanks for the feedback.. i just feel so hungry between meals and feel like i can eath anything.
  7. Is the band suppose to work unfilled? I am 2 weeks post op today and will not have my first fill until 4 weeks from now. Should I be expecting much weight loss during this month? Is the band designed to work at all during this time? Thanks.
  8. i was banded on 6/11 and i still have this cough.. however, i also smoke between 2-4 cigarrettes per day and did not do my breathing exercises like isntructed.
  9. so sorry to hear about your pains. i went through the exact same. had so much pain from the gas that i wanted to cry sometimes. Most people said their pains lasted a few days, for me, it was more like 5-6 days. it gets better. the gas-x didn't work for me.. only walking. good luck and know that it's temporary.
  10. :unsure:I am 10 days post-op and at first, i could not drink and eat anything because i was under so much pain and discomfort. now that it is gone, i am sooo soo hungry! what to do? anyone else had this experience? i feel like i can eat anything, even though im going into "mushies" right now, i feel like i want a burger NOW!:smile2:
  11. :crying:they did tell me that about 1 month to 2 weeks prior to surgery i had to quit, as it helps the recovery.. however,, i only smoke about 2-4 per day... so i never quit.. must say that recovery was not easy, wehther it was due tot he smoking or not.. but i guess going forward with my new lifestyle.. it's probably better to quit.. but i don't want to!
  12. Thanks! I have been trying soups as well. Chillis has a green salsa chicken soup and i ask them to just give me the broth.. its good!
  13. :tt1:can anyone please tell me how many days/weeks post-op i have to wait before returning to my regular sexual activities? My boyfriend is afraid that he "might hurt me." lol Also, besides the known facts that smoking kills, what are (if any) the negative affects of smoking to the band? Thank u!
  14. thanks for all of your feedback.. i am going to see my surgeon tomorrow for my 1 week follow-up. It has been 10 days since my surgery and i have moved up to mashed potatoes and pinto beans with cheese.. but i am staying away from the chicken for now. im so glad to be a part of this group.. you guys rock!
  15. :blush:Thank you.. I will not do this again and will tell my doctor at my first visit of my misbehavior. im just starting to get really hungry!
