How often do you weigh yourself?

Recommended Posts

Once a week? Twice? Every other day? Every day? Only at the doctors when you go for fills?

For those of you using the tickerfactory.com tracking to track your losses, how often do you update it?

I tend to want to weigh myself everyday because part of me thinks it helps to keep tight reigns on it but another part of me would like to be surprised and only do it once a week and hope that everytime I step on the scales, the numbers go down. :scared2:

I was really bad about it, I couldn't stop myself from getting on that thing every time I walked in the bathroom. many times a day. Then one of the girls on another thread sugested I put it in the truck of my car, So now it just lives there and I bring it in on Tuesday mornings and weigh once a week. That is also when I adjust my ticker if need be. The weighing everyday is a really bad habit to get into. Try to avoid it.

it really depends on my mood. one month its everyday then the next once a week. i do think that i do better when i weigh everyday. if i weigh daily its only once in the morning. i update my ticker weekly no matter what the scales says daily.

I weigh every day. I have weight fluctuations (+/-3 pounds usually), and I think that if I weighed once a week and I happened to be on a high day, that would be discouraging. Right now, pre-op, my victory is staying on the diet, and losing weight is an added benefit.

I weigh myself nearly every day...first thing in the AM, wearing nothing...I just feel its more accurate (my clothing tends to weigh 5-8lbs depending on the season)...most scales are are off by 1% of your body weight +/-...so I don't put too much emphasis on minor fluctuations.

Generally speaking, I have to weigh myself daily because ignorance is bliss for me...if I skip weighing myself for 2 weeks, I'll step on the scale and have a 5+lb weight gain.

So it just keeps me focused.

I'm a "scale whore" as described the last time somebody asked this question.

I strip down and get on her every morning, faithfully.

I update my ticker every couple of pounds or so but only record my weight in my journal once a week.

my weight fluctuates daily 1 or 2 pounds dependent on where I stand on the scale.< /p>

i weigh only once a month at my surgeon's office. i may jump on the wii fit at my parents when i am over but i do not use that as a guide. i threw out my scale.

right now this is working for me. as i get closer to my year anniversary i am sure i will need to track it closer. but right now my clothes are great guides.

i update my ticker once a month after my official weigh-in.

I was told that after surgery I need to weigh myself once a day because knowledge is power. I bought a new digital scale and put a "Star" Chart above it with a place to fill in my weight each Monday. If I go down, I give myself a star. Seems silly, but it works for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
