Recommended Posts

I am soooo not looking forward to it, but will stick to it seeing as I know I have an inflammed fatty liver.

If I heard the surgeon correctly, I get 3 shakes a day. Optifast shakes. that is it!!!! I see the nutritionist on Thursday so find out for sure then.

I have to do this for two weeks. Anyone else starting this on Monday??

I started yesterday and I am allowed 2 shakes and an Optifast bar.

The doctor said I could also have a SMALL amount of approved vegetables.

I thought I would chew my arm off last night - I was REALLY hungry!

By body was in total shock (where's the chocolate!!) and I had a headache and was in bed by 9.30 (unheard of for me!) to try and go to sleep so I wouldn't notice I was hungry!!

I know it will all be worth it - but it's certainly not easy! But maybe that's important as it keeps it in my mind that lapbanding isn't actually an 'easy' fix to my weight problem.

Good luck - you have my total sympathy!

i started today as well. I had a shake in the morning and a salad with some turkey breast and some low fat cottage cheese. for some reason my diet is not so strict thank god..i am allowd to have 2 healthy meals and 2 shakes per day and fruits snd veggies exept bananas. sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jell-o. but even like that i have a massive headache already and im starving!! but like all of you i look into the future and i know the rewards will come when i can play raquet ball and play soccer with my friends and not be just sitting there watching!! WE CAN DO IT GUYS!!!!

LETS HAVE FAITH!!!! and lets support each other. thanks for all the tips and advice from the people who have already had the surgery and are on track we appreciate it..Tino

Nice to know I am in good company!!!

I find out for sure on Thursday if all I get is the three shakes. I have a feeling that is all. I am having a hard time comprehending what it will be like to follow a liquid diet for two weeks!!!!

I know it will be hard, but I know I have to do it.

My coworker who I share an office with is doing the transitions diet while I do my liquid diet. She can have only raw veggies two fruit and Water. so she will be my support as well!!!

I am not sure how supportive my hubby and kids will be !!!!

My surgery is set for March 24th. I understand as of right now I can only have liquid protien shakes for 2 weeks before the surgery. Does anyone have any protien shakes they would recommend that they like? I can't imagine 2 weeks before only on liquids and then 2 weeks after. I'm starting to panic. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks to all who replied. You're right! it's going to be worth it after it's over. I feel better knowing that I'm not alone and that you all have been thru it and survived or are about to do it like myself. Thanks again. Eileen:thumbup:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
