Happy Holidays to you as well! I hope your next surgery (whichever it is) goes well. Feel free to ask me questions any time.

THank you so much Dan. I have the feeling that when I ponder this some more I will have more questions.

Well, I'm struggling right now, but I've lost more than anything else I've done. I didn't lose but didn't gain over the holidays either. So yes, I would absolutely do it again.

Ask me on another day and I might give a different answer, but no, I would have gone for the bypass.

I have had to have a revision done for a dilated pouch and had to pay again out of pocket. Now that i have my new band and no restriction yet, I have gained back 20 lbs and I'm out of all my new clothes. It took me over a year to get those 20 lbs off and I'm so bummed that I'll have to do it all over. (The way i lost it was having my band too tight so i would not be able to keep much of anything down. Hence the dilation.)

Ditto Xavier. I would totally self pay, but i have to say BC/BS has given me amazing coverage. I never pay a cent for a fill or even a floro!

So far I love my band. I see people who are overweight in my daily running around and I have to restrain myself from telling them my story.

No I would not do it again. I don't understand why it works so well for so many. I have pain and get stuck constantly, and when I'm not getting stuck, then I have zero restriction. Only down 65 pounds in over 2 years...and that's only from dieting my butt off and exercising more than I ever have in my whole life. Has nothing to do with this band. I got the wrong surgery. Regretting that I was too afraid for Bypass. Either that, or my surgeon (who gives every single patient the Realize Band) simply used the wrong band on me. I hate this so much. I have embarrassing jealousy over ever other Lapband patient I know, who've lost tons of weight in less than a year. Why not me? I'm a goooooooood patient and I don't break rules. This is just junk on my stomach.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
