I have a date!

Recommended Posts

9th of December. Eeeeek, 2 months away.

No big Christmas dinner for me this year (I'll still be on liquids - which includes champagne right?) and I dont care. And I have the perfect excuse to avoid the stress and expense of having the family to my house this year too. Somebody else can do it. Of course I'll do it next Christmas when I'm a tiny, fit dynamo.

No preop liquid diet necessary either. I'm in good health, no liver issues and no fatty liver so its not necessary. But he was more than enthusiastic about my goal to try to lose some weight before the surgery.

Whether that happens remains to be seen but I"m planning on counting points a la Weight Watchers and trying to get it down a bit. I have to, its gorgeously warm in Melbourne today, hot weather is just around the corner and I have absolutely nothign I can fit into.

Congratulations. I had to wait 2 months when I was given my date...it felt like the longest time and suddenly now I'm 4 days post op and feel fantastic.

I went through absolute dedication to walking and WW to the never ending last supper.

Good luck :D

I was banded on December 21st. Some people felt sorry for me that I couldn't join in the hogfest of eating, but I was very happy. For once my eating was in total control! Hopefully I'll be rebanded sometime before this Christmas too!

Best wishes to you.

You must be excited. My cousin gave me her bandster rules in April and I started applying them- 2 weeks before I even met with the surgeon's office. That helped me lose some weight before I got there - small bites, chew each bite 25 plus times, stop when you feel full (okay that one didn't work)...

Congratulations!!! Celeste

BIG BIG HOORAY!!!

I am glad you have your date and you are solidly on your way to such a great change. I just got back Saturday. After wrestling with "should I or shouldn't I" for so long, I can safely say so far, absolutely on regrets. I have never felt so positive in my life!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! I am sure all will be well.

Congrat on getting a date. I really like your idea of champagne being a clear liquid....lol:) I get banded on the 2oth. Can't wait but I am also very nervous.

No Christmas dinner is well worth the reward. I had my surgery on April 6th of 2004, 1 week before Easter, I was on liquids for Easter dinner, but 1 year later this Easter I had dinner with the same family members and I had lost over 80 lbs, what a blessing for me...I enjoyed Easter dinner this year. Next Christmas you will be thin and get to enjoy it..Best of luck to you on your upcoming surgery. The good thing is by having the band and getting healthier and adding years to your life, you will most likely be around for alot more Christmas dinners :D

I'm going to The Avenue too - although we live out in Berwick its a pretty easy trip, Doug can drop me off on his way to work, lol. And the follow up and fills etc are way easier for me there than over at kew where I've been seeing him.

Good start today - healthy Breakfast and 1.5 hours in the gym. Lets see if I'm still going so well at 4pm, lol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
