Can you feel your band?

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if you can feel your band. I don't mean the tight feeling that you have after a fill. I'm wondering if you actually feel it in place immediately after surgery. Does it cause any discomfort?

I am being banded on Oct.5. I have suffered from anxiety attacks for many years, where I feel as if I can not breath. I am fearful that I will be able to feel the band and that it will feel constricting. Has anyone experienced this?

No I can't feel my band at all. I can sort of feel my port under my skin, but not the actual band around the stomach. I can sort of sic myself out about things like that too, so I understand where you are coming from.

Nope, not at all. You can feel the port and hopefully you feel restriction, but you don’t feel the band itself.

Considering there aren't any nerve sensors in/around your stomach, no you can't - You can however feel the port, the more you loose the more you'll be able to feel it

When I woke up from surgery, I could feel a 'tightness' that made me think I could feel the band.

Now, 2 weeks out, when I wake up of a morning, I have restriction and I can feel that, but it goes away after I drink my coffee. I guess I'm just one of those that is tight of a morning.

No as the others have said you can't feel it.

I could fill it a little bit about a week ago, which is about a week after surger, but it didn't feel tight or restricting, I could just feel it. I think I had a bit of swelling. I can't feel it at all now.

Feel the band? No..just the port. But, that being said, when you are tight, you can tell. It does not hurt, it's more of a feeling that you are going to need to eat really slow and maybe eat softer foods to have less trouble. It feels like a tightness in your stomach, but physically feeling the band, no you can't.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
