Hey everyone! I'm scheduled for the 20th, God (or really, at this point, insurance) willing. Its very exciting but I totally have that last meal feeling that others were speaking of. Need to get over that!

And to the person who's dr moved away without warning you- that is horrible!! Good luck finding a new dr!

I'm gonna be banded on the 20th too! whoo hoo us! lol

Get this everybody! I was told that my surgery is October 6th. I started the liquid diet and one week into it I find out.......

My surgeon, Dr. Iqbal, is moving to Miami the first of the year. Thanks Doc for telling me! I also called my insurance company today to find out what I have to do to transfer to another doctor and they have no record of the doctor sending in for authorization for the procedure. Holy Crap! One week from surgery and the sky just fell in on me! Now what? I don't know. I had my FMLA already approved. I finished out my 6 months, psych exam, UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

BY THE WAY, DR. IQBAL, IS FROM PT. CHARLOTTE, FLORIDA FOR ALL YOU BANDSTERS PLANNING TO HAVE HIM DO YOUR SURGERY!

sorry! hope it works out for you

xmagirl: I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. As if it's not crazy enough dealing with surgery. Just keep a cool head. I guess I'd just go through with the surgery...i'm sure your doc's office will put in for the surgery. since you've jumped through the hoops, it'll probably be cool. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know what happens.

Good Luck everyone! My surgery is in a week! WOOHOO!

I am doing well on my pre-op diet. Down 8 lbs already! YAY!

I am planning to get a costco card, but for right now I have been using GNC's brand of whey Protein, which is yummy! And until we do get that I am going to try 100%GoldStandard whey from the Vitamin Shoppe. I'll let you know how I like that. Congratulations everyone! I am so nervous yet so excited!

Hi Everyone!

I just got approved and my surgery date is October 16th!

I am so nervous, excited and scared!

I am having doubts because something foreign is going into my body to aid in losing weight, however, I know that this is the best thing I can do for myself. I have such mixed feelings.

Anyway, congrats to everyone on their journeys! :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
