are you in alot of pain? i think thats all i am worried about..and did you get stapled or something else?

I was banded yesterday morning. The gas pain disapated last night so all I have today is the abdominal pain. You know...like someone punched a bunch of holes in my belly lol. No staples, just stitches. One larger hole -- still under an inch -- the other four are tiny, maybe 3-4 stitches each. It;s not bad -- you can do it!

Hey everyone, my big day is Friday October 9th, only 3 days left. My pre-op diet is going well and I'm in the home stretch!

I am getting banded on Oct 19th! Crazy how time goes by. I am kinda nervous but overall excited about it. Don't know what to expect or how I will feel, which is the hard part for me.

Is it standard that there is a 2 week liquid diet prior - or is that if you have a higher BMI? I wasn't told to do that. Mmmmm?

I will be thinking of you guys too!

I have noticed nothing is standard, doctors require anything from liquid diets, low carb diets, low cal diets, low fat diets to no diets at all. Just do what your doc tells you. If you don't know call and ask, thats what I would do.

That is so true... I wasn't instructed to do much prior. Then kept reading people's posts and blogs and they say they had diets before hand. Just checking to make sure I didn't miss anything.

So you are banded on Oct 16th?

I'm having my surgery on Thursday October 8th at 10:50 AM will stay overnight and I'm so excited and nervous at the same.

7 day liquid diet has been a struggle since I'm on travel for work but have managed to maintain and follow Dr's orders.

Good luck and best wishes on your new journey:)

It's almost time for my surgery..Oct. 9th!!! I can't belive it..honestly, i never thought it would get here. I've been able to occupy my time by focusing on my pre-op diet, getting all my supplies together and bascilly cleaning anything that will stand still. My dog and ferret have had 2 baths in the last week! hahah!

I'm worried about being able to lay still to let my body heal and explaining to my mom-in-law why i'm laying around in my PJ's. I decided not to tell anyone (except my husband)about having the band installed...i've just read too much about others being under-minded and frankly, i don't need that! i need positive support not a bunch of people thinking that i've taken the easy way out.

Good luck to you all and i'll keep you informed!:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
