The most difficult part for me has been trying to find the sweet spot. Too loose, too tight, too loose, too tight.

QUOTE]

There's such thing as too tight? I thought it was right up there with the thought you could never be too rich!

I am 3 weeks post op, and haven't had a fill. So, I am in "Bandster Hell". That place where you are hungry, and have no restriction. In addition, I am on the "transition" stage of my post-op diet, so although I finally graduated from "mushies", I am still on soft foods -- so my food choices are still limited.

Otherwise, I have had no pain, no complications, and BEST of all, I AM losing weight!

Good luck!

OMG I am going thru the same thing I am in my 3rd week as well and I have had really no trouble with taking anything in or even the quantity of food I eat. I can't wait til I get my first fill, I need that restriction.

Hey, I'm new here and I want to find out how everyone is doing before the band to lose weight. You said there is a bandster hell? :scared2: I thought that after you get the band you would not feel hungry? Can you not fill up on liquid Protein?

Does those Protein shakes hurt your stomach after drinking them? I am trying to find one that doesn't and one that taste good enough to drink. What do you do?

Thanks,

Mark

Hey there just trying to see it from all angles and opinions:biggrin:. What has been the suckiest part of this for you as well as the best part? Does anyone regret having the surgery? Please add post to this so i know what i am getting into. I will be attending a seminar soon!

Hi Panda,

I am 10 days out from surgery, so I don't have a lot to offer you. But so far, for me the suckiest part IS bandster hell. I'm in its throughs right now and I am STARVING!! LOL I know I will get through it, but I have been on liquids since June 27!! I will get to advance to pureed on Tuesday and I am sooooooo looking forward to it!! I haven't had the, "what have I done to myself thought yet. I did get close about 2 days postop. I had an enormous amount of gas in my stomach and couldn't burp. The pressure from that around my diaphragm was almost unbearable. I am not sorry I did it. I am just waiting to advance my diet some. :scared2:)

Good luck to you!!

Paulette

For me personally? NOTHING. Seriously. Compared to all the diets I tried and how absolutely MISERABLE I felt after suffering and struggling and striving and measuring and charting and journaling and yada yada to lose 30 measley pounds only to relax and gain it back in 1/2 the time it took me to lose it? This is heaven. So I've had to learn to chew well, so I can't drink with my meals, so it took a while for the fills to finally give me restriction.

I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I think my band is wonderful. Even having to have TWO surgeries (my own fault) it's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

And as for bandster hell? I've gone through similar things before (a liquid diet of some weirdo liquid Protein shots that I did in the early 70's comes to mind) ... bandster hell was nothing compared to that, because it has an end. :scared2:

I am 4 wks post op today and I'd say the "bandster hell" is the worst part. for the first 2 wks I was doing fab goin' through the "honeymoon phase" w/ restriction, losing weight left and right. But now I have no restriction and I'm giving in to the snack monster. I have faith I can do well b/c I have done really well just minor slip ups. I stay under 1100 calories a day, and work out 30 mins a day, so I'm just keeping my focus on that until my first fill on 7/28!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
