Can anyone else "feel" the lap band inside them?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so this may be an odd question, but it concerns me. I can "feel" the lapband inside me. It's not pain, its just that I can feel it. I'm aware of it almost 24-7. Sort of like a small bruise (or less). I was banded about four months ago. It makes me very careful about moving/stretching etc. I don't notice it all the time, but I notice it enough to make me concerned. Is it normal to be so aware of it?

I can feel the port too, but it's about three inches away from the spot that I feel. I'm wondering if I'm nuts, or if something isn't right.

I also can not feel the band, just the port. The port is actually more noticeable now that I have lost 45 pounds, than it ever was before. I really only feel it tugging if I am lying on my tummy.

I can feel both the port and the band. My port will from time to time become sore if I exercise strenuously, or do a lot of Ab work at the gym. I know where and what that is. This other feeling is as you describe. It's kind of like a bruise. I have a very small rib cage, and on occasion I can feel it bumping my ribs from the inside. It's an odd feeling. Not really painful. I also have a floating rib, so if it folds in if I sit wrong, it's even more pronounced. I'm used to it now. It doesn't bother me so much anymore. but I know what you're talking about.

Aubrie, Yes, if I sit 'wrong' I need to move to make it feel better. I feel the port sometimes too. I'm glad that someone else feels both the band and the port.

I dont think I can feel the band but I can feel a little soreness around the port sometimes. I can sometimes feel the tightness of the band in the morning so I think maybe thats the only time but usually only if I am drinking coffee or something.

Sometimes I feel the band. Never really felt much from the port side, but can feel the band occasionally.....especially after a fill. But sometimes for no reason at all I can feel a tiny bit of a "squeeze" or tightness. It usually passes after a bit, but I know what you mean.

Thank you everyone. I feel better now. I think maybe I'm just a worry wort. It's good to know that some other people can feel the band (and the port).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
