Eating or Drinking before a Fill - help please

Recommended Posts

Could anyone please tell me what their doctor allows them to eat or drink before a fill. the lady in my doctor's office said I could have nothing that day, not even Water. My appointment is at 2 pm and I have a 3 hour drive to get there. I don't think I can go without a sip of water or Protein Drink or clear Soup or something. OK I am weak....help please...I am waiting for another lady in the office to call me back...hope the first one was mistaken.....

I was never told anything at all about eating or drinking beforehand. I had my first fill today at 10am, so at 9am I had a huge Breakfast (2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast) because I knew that I'd be on liquids for 2 days and mushies for 2 days afterward. No problems here!

When I called my doc. last week, before my first fill they said there was no restrictions on eating/drinking prior to my fill. I ate a sandwhich 1/2 hour before going in. NO problems with the fill.

I also was told to eat before the fill. lunch that is--my appt. was at 3:30. I could drink up until the fill. Going for 2nd fill soon--hopefully restirction will follow. 1cc did nothing.

I can drink or eat up until my fill, then I'm given a cup of Water to sip and make sure I'm not too tight, the it's liquids for the next 24 hrs. Then back to usual, if I can stand it, LOL.

No food for 4 hours before fill, a cup of Water I drink there to make sure I can, then liquids the rest of the day. Mushy food the next day.

I have only had one fill, and I wasn't very sensitive to it. Story may change on next fill! Cindy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
