Home from dressing changes! OMG...I look so much better. I no longer have the maxi pads, but gauze...and it feels so much better. More airy. I was so excited to see my chin...it looks so good already (albeit, still really jacked up). So far very happy!

Home to lay down...bbl

Hi everyone  I am here, physically, definitely not mentally. Thanks for the texts, calls & e-mails.

It has been one b-day party or get together after another...it has been raining Cookies, cake, bbq and ice cream around me for the past few weeks. I am up 7 pounds and I am pretty much in this kind of mood  so I figured why bring everyone down with me? OH..and the dermatologist appt I have waited on for 3 weeks had to get cancelled the other day because my dsd dr appt took too long and I had to reschedule my appt...for Aug 19th!!! I could bore you all with a laundry list of other crapola I am dealing with BUT I won't because I know alot of people have it alot worse than me so I will just stop right here. lol

Terry~thank you for the invitation and if I thought I could make it through lunch without boohoo'ing I would but at this point, I can't...but we will soon, ok?

Thanks you ladies :)

Hi gals

Well, there was so much real cheese in that pie, but everyone loved it... of course I knew i was not going to be able to eat it so it has real cheese in there, and way too much due to the little accident....lol

We had a nice day, my sister is really starting to become the person she use to be.

I went to PA today and we had a long talk, I told her about the big weight gain with the lexapro and then loosing it except the last 5lbs, because of course i'm super pms this morning ... she gave me a fill, my biggest one, i'm up to 1.5cc, she was going to put me to 1.75 but i told her i wanted to do baby steps, I then asked her for the post surgery pages of the diet so i could get back on track of what i should be eating. That was a bonus. So I am on Clear liquids for 2-5 days, the min is 2 days but left it up to me... but no more than 5, then mushie food for the same amount of time. I also have an appointment with the nutritionist on mondy, so I hope to get a swift kick in the butt to get this going again.

I'm sipping chicken broth right now.

Pamela, I think you still have my aol email address, I'm going to look there, but glad you are doing well already!

Judy, you getting some nice weather to send my way? I'm tired of all the cool temps and rain.

Well, today was a hit, so i'm happy. never walked this morning so going out in a bit.

I'm tired of all the cool temps and rain.

You have no idea how odd this sounds to me!! We've been hitting 100+ 70% humitidy every day for....well, FOREVER!! I think we are all losing our minds. We've got two full months left of it, too.

Jenn, I didn't know you had a sister. What's her deal?

TracyK - Have you ever tried anti-depressants? They were life-savers for me.

I have taken them before and swore I never would again. Jacked my head up BIG time! Now pills like Xanax for Librium or Tranxene, yes, because they are for temporary nerve problems...recreational, if you will, Bad thing about any of those is they make me gain weight too! They sure help wth sleep though!

In general I am not a depressed person. I am down on myself about my weight gain and about certain situations that are FIXABLE in my life. There are things that need to be done and things that need to be addressed/fixed in order for me to fix ME...I know what needs to be done. I am just working on a plan of action in my head and am taking steps in the right direction. Bear with me... :tt2:

Good evening, Violets...

What crazy weather we are having. It was 59 degrees this morning when I got up. It got to 75 degrees, so I got in the pool a couple of times and was going for a third time when poof... it's 63 degrees and raining yet again!!!! The steam is coming up from the pool Water. What a strange sight on July 30th. This is going down as our coolest July on record. I sure am glad I have the heater for the pool, but dang.. I can't use it anyway because of the rain. We just ran out to put the solar blanket on the pool and I'm sitting here in a warm bathrobe. It's darn chilly out there!!

TracyK.. glad to see you back. And I agree with Terry.. anti-depressants can be very helpful.

PamELa.. hope you're feeling ok. ((hugs))

((hugs)) to everyone else too.

Off to watch NCIS reruns and then Royal Pains, then read some more of the book that Michelle recommended... Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. It's darn good. And then I have the new James Patterson book waiting for me on the Kindle.

Everyone sleep well.......

Hey girls~

Feeling better, looking bad! I sent another pic...today. Let me know if you don't want them.

Jen, I don't know what I have as for you email...your just in the violets list...let me know if I need another.

Tracyk...I wish I could swing by and take you out for a drinky...and all the violets too! I am thinking we need some of Jane's frozen "kick yo ass" margies she made for us in Bama! They were so good and icey...we needed a spoon! It was like a frosty!!! Keep you chin up sista! Dont let the scale validate who you are! You are loved!

OK...I've had two naps today! I had yogurt and granola for breaky. Then for lunch I heated up some mooshoo pork (w/out the pancake thingy...so it was just pork and veggies) and got stuck!!!:scared2:Trust me, I am not even supposed to tie my shoes for a few days, let alone PB! SO...after a walk around the house, it went down...and I called Jenny and she brought me over a Jamba juice. I don't know if that is a chain or what...but it was w/ banana and strawberries and choc...and it was good. I am gonna stick w/ really easy food for a bit. Maybe I'll lose a few in the process.

Did I mention this morning that when they took the diaper off, I saw the early results of the lipo! It is still swollen and has Fluid in it, but I do not have the chin I have had all my life! I cant believe it...very happy!

Gonna shower in the morning...I need to wash the hair and some other 2000 parts too. Hope that goes well!

Ok...I am ramblling! Loving BB, how bout you Tracy. I am sad Casey is leaving, but I can not STAND the way he smokes...he makes soooo much noise w/ the inhaling and exhaling...no one makes that much noise. I've been watching on Showtime too...cant wait to see who gets HOH!

Ramblin' Rose....out

Terry -

it is usually very humid here but it has been 79-82 if it doesn't rain, which is all it has been doing. I should be in the pool every day

Oh... let me tell you... my sister... will make every ounce of our disfunction seem normal. I love her, she married a man with money and we are very different, although today she was so much more grounded like she use to be and we had a great day

Tracyk - i was on lexapro and gained 20lbs in 6 weeks, started on wellbutrin and lost 15 of it and i'm leveled out. I've taken some bad stuff in the past too which made me not want to do something but i think i have a keeper. Only problem, causes insomnia, but at least i feel good and don't want to sleep all the time.

off to get a s/f pop... i found pineapple yummy

Hey girlies... quick post before I call it a night...

Haydee... what was that vinegar trick that doc told you to do awhile back when you had sugar cravings? Cuz' I thought of it tonight when it popped into my head that a big bowl of granola w/milk would be tasty... and the thought wouldn't go away... & I even had the milk out, & went into the pantry for the granola and -- WHAM! -- out of no where I saw the vinegar on the shelf above the granola... so I grabbed it, got down a shot glass, poured a shot, and held it in my mouth until I counted to 25 (don't remember how long she said to hold it for, but that was as long as I could stand... my mouth got all hot and tingly and owie... still is a bit!)... then I spit it out, but didn't rinse.... then I put away the milk... wasn't that you were supposed to do that every time you got a sugar craving and then in awhile they'd stop?? something like that? Did you ever try it? Anyone else? hmmmmmmmmm...

Judy -- So glad you're enjoying the book!

Sweet dreams, Vi's!

Tracyk I take anti depressants, I just switched to generic prozac, and really I think I like it the best. I don't have any side effects. I think you just need to find what works best for you!!

As far as BB goes, I did like Casey, but he picked his nose ALOT! He was sort of crazy tonight. But, I would probably be a little nuts in a house like that!!

I am so glad nobody ate ice cream yesterday!!!!!!

Hi Girls,

Just got home a little while ago. A customer of mine gave me a gift certificate for 2 tickets to a play. I called my Aunt and asked her to go. We met for dinner and than went to the play. It was so cool. They had a bar and you could take your drinks in with you, they also sold Snacks. Anyway, the play was good and we enjoyed it.

All is quiet again here. I think everyone is starting to realize that they need to straighten up. At least I hope.

Tomorrow Hubby and I are going to go see about that new U-Verse and also get rid of our land-line. We are looking into downsizing and saving on our bill.

See you in the morning. sleep tight.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
