I'm curious as to what everyone did once they lost weight. I know some people by goal outfits and some people get tattoos and piercings. Some people are just happy with the weight loss itself. What did everyone out there do? I was thinking I want a tatto on my ribs... I think this will help me stay positive and have something new and exciting to look forward to...

i have a couple of them.

I want to get a new hairstyle. i have had the same style (all one length, the length has just changed through the years, and the color) for several years but never wanted to cut it because i didn't want to make my face look rounder. I have a stylist who i completely trust to go in and tell him to do whatever he wants.... since it's all one length, and i'll make sure it's a length he could do whatever he wants to it, he will be able to do anything!

the other thing(s) is a breast lift and Tummy Tuck.

we always get a large amount from taxes back. we usually put it into the house. a few years ago he got a boat with it. I told him my goal was to lose weight and get a BL and TT...well, we all know what happened, it DIDN'T happen. i was heavier than ever. so the taxes went back into the house and our portion of the BAND. i don't see why i wouldn't meet my goal sometime this year, so my plan is NEXT year WILL be my year and i WILL get my BL and TT!

a itty bitty bikini will be another thing... hubby can't wait to use his boat while i sit out on the front in my bikini with the confidence to wear it!

we plan to go on a trip too. we were suppose to go to Mrtyle Beach for our 2nd anniversary, but i had a premature baby that i wasn't going to leave, the following year, i had ANOTHER premature baby and a 1 year old that had never been away from me...and after that i didn't want to go NEAR a beach looking the way i did...so i want to plan that trip again and go have a BLAST!!

I have a tat design that i wanted to get after my divorce that would represent my life before and my life i was begining, but i never did do it.... it could also represent my fat life and NEW life..... Hubby doesn't like tats, so i'm not sure if i'll do it or not. then again, if when i'm to goal and loving my body again and i REALLy want to do it, i will. It will be for ME... (i want it in a place that only in a bathing suit or naked would it even be seen)

whew...i rambled!

I said I would DO THINGS I probably wouldn't have done otherwise. In Roatan in March, I went on a 16 cable zip line. Now I have to think up something else, LOL.

I think I may get a tattoo. I definitely want a breast lift and a Tummy Tuck but I still have a long way to go in the weight loss department.

It's crazy, I know. But I have this fear, and I want to conquer it. If (when) I reach 190lbs, I want to go skydiving. The place I want to do it doesn't let you if you weight more than 210, and from 200-210 you pay an extra $20 fee, which I don't want to do, so I'm going to wait till I hit 190, and go off into the wild blue yonder.

Yeah!! I'm not the only one my husband would call crazy. I, too would love to go skydiving....I want to go to Vegas and skydive. I have checked on it in the past and was afraid my knees wouldn't support me in a soft landing. My DH thinks I have lost my mind. He has his private pilots liscense and offers to "assist" me in my dream lots of times. But...I told him I'd do it with the pro's.....

Depending on how things go. . maybe a breast lift. Fingers crossed that I won't need it, but you never know. .

I'm also going to buy some new, really nice suits for work to replace the ones I've been wearing, and will probably be pretty generous with myself on the clothing-shopping front!

I'm 44 lbs down as of this morning (with 25-30 to go to get in my goal zone), and as a treat, I signed myself up for a REALLY SCARY looking exercise program -- www.purepowerbootcamp.com. I really hope that I can hack it. If I can, I'm going to be really excited to see how my body looks at the end of the program and what the scale has to say!

I am not a tattoo kind of girl - more of a shopaholic. I may be dangerous when I get to "normal sizes" - I've always had a handbag addiction, but never felt like my clothes really went with my bags and shoes. I want some beautiful clothes to go with that Marc Jacobs bag sitting in my closet.

I was just talking to a friend about this this morning, and I never really thought about getting a tattoo but now I'm thinking that once I lose the weight I might get one just a small one on my ankle or my back to symbolize what I've done and accomplished. My DH may not be too happy about it but we'll see....

I have a number of goals, but here are two big ones...

1. I want to complete Bikram Yoga Instructor school.

2. Walk on the beach with my shirt off and not feel out of place.

When I arrive at my goal weight, I look forward to the following:

1. Wearing sleeveless shirts.

2. Wearing shorts.

3. Cutting my hair.

I would love to get a breast lift too, but I have to finish paying for my band first!

I told my DH I was going to have a little bumble bee tat on my ankle to show I can "bee" whatever I want to be. Cheesy I know. Oh yeah I have a pair of red capri pants I want to get into.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
