Favorite Band Friendly Fast Food Go To

Recommended Posts

For Breakfast I like the steak and egg burrito at Carl’s Jr. (minus the tortilla). For lunch/dinner I get the chili at Quiznos or the chicken taco (minus the tortilla) and pintos & cheese at Taco Bell. I like to eat Carne Asada or Pork Adobada at cheap Mexican places if I’m not too tight.

the only thing I can eat at mcd's is a parfait my favorite or the chicken nuggets. I just get meals at sitdown places and then I eat off them for the next 3 days

I eat the grilled chicken wrap at McDonalds when Im needing a fast food fix. Can't do burgers or fries at all anymore. Chicken of any variety is 90% of my diet now, but I just keep experimenting with ways to cook it :(

My favorite is Wendys Chile or wendys baked potato. I have tried McD southern fried chicken without the bun and it was yummy. I like Chick-fil-la nuggets too. I cant eat french fries anymore either they get stuck .

I also like Wendy's chili or baked potato.

Chick fil a has an awsome wrap if you can handle the grain tortilla. I have to eat it very slowly and can only eat 1/2 at one meal. The fruit and walnut salad at McDonalds is an awsome breakfast or lunch if you need something quick.

I am on the run quite a bit so I do have fast food more then I should - I like the fresco taco from taco bell - lower fat version then their original - although it has to be on a hard shell - soft tortillas don't work for me. I also usually get nuggets at other places - if they aren't too breaded - arby's are too much breading- usually I get a kids meal and just have 4 nuggets and iced tea - somedays I will have a fry or 2 but more often then not they don't go down very welll. Wendy's has the easiest to eat chicken - it is very processed.... if I am really tight I stick with Soups. Even 2 years later I still get a Big Mac craving - but I tried it one time - thought just a bite or 2 and boy was that a mistake -won't make it again! Anne

The only fast food places I have tried so far are pizza, chinese and Subway. The 2 times I had pizza I limited myself to 1 slice even though I was still hungry. The couple times I've had Chinese, I've gotten them to make the General Tso's chicken sauteed so it wasn't so bad. I don't have any problem foods right now in terms of getting stuck so the bread at Subway isn't a problem, although I ask them to scoop out some of the insides anyway.

the chicken bacon ranch salad from mcdonalds. I get the grilled chicken and use the lite vinagrette dressing they have. They're chicken is pretty moist and as many problems as I used to have with chicken I've never had a problem with it.

This is a great thread. My family likes to go out and eat and my nieces and nephews just live for McDonalds, so it's great to have ideas of what I might be able to eat once I get back on solids. I cannot eat fresh fish and only tolerate things like fish sticks or canned tuna in limited amounts. Right now I stopped at Runza to pick up a fruit smoothie when I was running about town with no food and it was the only thing on the menu I could have. I bought a Protein Shake but it was disgusting.

Anyone have issues with popcorn once they are on solids? How about hard taco or tostada shells?

I've eaten popcorn a few times and never had a problem with it. I've had pretty good success with tacos as long as they have a hard shell. For some reason the soft ones don't go down well. And I too do not care for protien shakes. Once you get on solids it's easier to find ways to get your protien without them.

I like El Pollo Loco, I usually get two chicken legs and eat half a side salad (makes up my 4 oz and pretty low in calories). I also sometimes get 2 of their Taco El Carbons (take off one of the tortillas and right at 4oz)

Carls Jr. also does any of their hamburgers carbless (wrapped in lettuce)...I sometimes get the famous star this way and very good for a treat.

I also can't eat fries anymore, just about every time I have tried them they have caused a problem.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
