Pain below breast.

Recommended Posts

I just started with this pain right below my breast. I've had my band for a year now and I haven't had any problems until now. Has anyone else had this problem? It can be very painful at times.

Is it in your sternum area? If so, I am having it now for the first time since my surgery in Sept 08. I called my Dr.'s office and spoke with the NP and she wanted to know if I had been vomiting. Where the pain/discomfort was is where the band is to create the pouch. She said it sounded as though I have irritated that area somehow and to coat it with Mylanta/Malox as often as directions say and go to a liquid diet, not just clear but no thicker than milk for 2 days then pureed for 1 day, soft for 1 day then back to normal. If this didn't cure it, I am to call them and come in to have a x-ray to determine what's going on. I hope this helps. Good luck.

That sounds like me too. However the last time I got sick was friday. I didn't start noticing the pain till (sunday). I am thinking with all the working out, and how much I clean yesterday, plus it only is a dull ache when I do contract my muscles (like a crunch). I wonder because I am losing weight that the band doens't have much fat tissue around it and till it makes a new home, I just will notice it some.

HELP

I opened a thread on this subject just a few weeks ago and didn't get any answers, so I'm glad to have a few people to bounce some ideas off of. I'm almost a year and a half out. This pain started about 3 months ago on and off. It was sporadic. Now I have it 24/7 at varying levels of intensity. It started out up under my ribs, under my left breast. If I didn't know better I would swear it felt like my band was baning into my rib cage. Now the pain has moved around to my back as well, up under my rib cage. At first I thought it was my kidney, but complained to my OB/GYN at my annual exam and he told me it was to high up to be my kidney. He thought it was my lung or stomach. I don't think it's my lung. So it must be my band. I complained about it to my surgeon a couple months ago, and because I wasn't vomiting or have any blood in a PB or stool, he wasn't concerned. It's not an excrutiating pain. It more like a dull to moderate ache. Seems to ache a little more if I drink or eat. I go to the doctor on Friday, so I will let you all know what he says.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
