Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1

Recommended Posts

Well tomorrow I start my 2 day clear liquid prep diet to clean thing out if you know what I mean. Nothing but Jello, Diet 7up and broth till 7:30pm Thursday then a 12 hour fast then report for surgery 5:30 Friday morning.

I finally pulled my BiPAP macine out that I haven't uned in nearly 2 years and found no maks in the kit, I have no idea what I did with it. Oh well guess they will come up with one at the hospital.

Still not sure about working on Thursday I may take the day off just for the heck of it my projects are all clear only have a couple small things to work on I'msure I'll be miserable.

Congrats on your band date! I would consider VERY slow walking after a week, and maybe cardio after two weeks, I would definitely NOT jump around four days post op! You will be very sore!!!!

Thanks Lingling. I had a feeling it would be way too soon. How is the weather down there?

BG, thanks so much for the info you found on the liver shrinking. I don't have a pre op diet either and have been worrying about my liver. I mean, hey, we ARE in the minority here...almost everyone has a preop diet!!lol I have been trying to do my own version of a preop diet, thinking that it will help. Low carbs and Protein Shakes, but eating dinner once in a while as long as it is Protein and veggies.

I just have to trust my surgeon and know that she has done tons of these surgeries and knows what will or will not make it easier. Did your doc elaborate on why they don't require a preop diet?

Well, I FINALLY met with my surgeon yesterday, and everything went really well! He said I am a perfect candidate, and he didn't order any further tests, and no liquid diet. I feel kinda "left out" not having to do the 2 week diet, but I think I'll do it for a week on my own, just to be on the safe side. I've been watching what I eat more anyway, and lost 6 lbs since my appt in February.

My nurse/coordinator submitted my final paperwork to the insurance company yesterday also, so now I wait....to be approved!!!

Does anyone have Empire BlueCross BlueShield insurance? that is what I have.....wonder how long I'll have to wait??

I hope surgery went well today for the April 7th bunnies, and best wishes to all the remaining for this week!

Originally, I was to have had surgery on March 25th, but my doctor is going out of town so it was re-scheduled for April 8th! And I'm just as excited to be a part of the Bunnies!!! I start my liquid diet on Monday! I'm so ready for my new life!!!

Hi Ldeere, Best wishes for surgery tomorrow! Let us know how it goes.

I begin my pre-op fast in 24.5 hours. My surgery is 8 days away on April 16th.

Went for my pre-op labs and final class today. A review of medical, dietary and exercise information.

I have my pre-op physical and history appointment this Friday.

It's countdown time!

Getting a little nervous!

Weather is grotty! Raining today and getting into winter. Off to a pub quiz tonight so will have my first glass of white wine! apparently I will be pissed!! hahha let's see.

Had my post op visit today, he said "A1Pass!" and come back in a month. He was happy and showed me photos he'd taken inside my tummy when he was in there. I will try and scan them and get them on here somehow.

I'm gonna start a MASTER THREAD #2 as this one is taking forever to load!! xx

Good morning all!! As you can tell by the time I'm posting this I took my meds too early and now I can't sleep! So I thought this would be a good time to play catch up! I came thru surgery just fine, but I didn't wake up from recovery till 6:00 p.m. so my husband didn't feel good about me coming home right after so I stayed all night. Just so I could be poked, stuck and honestly woken up to find out if I was in any pain!! Now who would want to go home and miss all that? I'm just glad one of us got a good nights sleep!! But anyway, I'm home now and so far no problems with being sick or pressure in my chest. I've been walking all I can in the house and I think that is helping alot! I did find out one thing, I won't be getting my first fill until 6 wks. The Dr. said that will give me enough time for the swelling to go down on my stomach and that does make sense but I haven't heard anyone else say anything about it. So I don't know if this is normal or not. Anyone else been told that? Oh Yea Thanks B_G, for the shout out B.B. card! It was really cute and thank you for all you do for the rest of us!! It is so thoughtful of you to do everything you do!!

36_1_75.gif Well I'm going back to bed, I'll talk to you guys later! Thanks for all your prayers!! It really does help to know that your being thought of!!

Hi Jersy Girl! I have just paid my £1500 deposit to the hospital. OMG... it's getting more real for me too - 2 weeks today. I wish I wasn't so damned busy, so I could take it all in a bit more!

I go tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning for a 7:30 surgery. To say i am alittle excited is putting it mildly.

Hey Early, I don't know about that. Being busy gives you less time to think about it!! Good luck to you too. Keep in touch.

Hello All! I made it home yesterday and I am doing fine today. Thank You BG for the BD wish. I was really happy to get it. This group is God sent. It helps with getting past the pain and knowing our future will be brighter because of this very important decision we made.:glare:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
