Don't stress on what to take to the hospital because you won't even use half of it. All you need is underware, slippers, pants to walk the hall in (you don't want your butt to show) and extra big clothes for the car ride home. Oh and don't forget your toothbrush. Good Luck

Take some chapstick or lip balm (they'll be really dry) and also a book to read, or MP3 player. Wear easy on/off shoes (you won't want to bend over long enough to tie them) and a pillow for the ride home (to brace your surgical sites. Really helps) brush, comb...glasses case if needed (don't wear contacts if you do, they'll make you take them out) toothbrush clean undies (you'll wear their gown) Good luck!

OH and the bag is adorable!

A good book to read, MP3 player when you want to listen to your favorite songs. Tooth brush, comb, a pair of comfortable slipper and a dress to wear. That will do for now.

Melly obviously it isn't an outpatient procedure for everyone...and most insurance companies consider it "outpatient" if you are there less than 24 hours (which can mean you are there 23 hours). Some people stay overnight; some if complications arise stay longer. Some docs REQUIRE an overnight stay just to be on the safe side. We're all different.

Hi, I agree with everyone. toothbrush, chapstick, pillow for ride home, slip on shoes, undies, brush and maybe a cell phone? I stayed overnight and your very sleepy for the most part so you'll probably not need much else. Good Luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
