first fill, little restriction

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I had my first fill last week and don't feel the restriction I was hoping for. I had the fill under flouroscopy with barium and I know she put saline in there...I'm just not finding it! I do feel SOME restriction, but not what I was expecting. Has anyone else experienced this with their first fill?

Thanks,

Emily

I had my first, second, and third fills two weeks apart each. My first and third fills were under fluoro, and they took a picture before they did the third fill, and I was very open. I felt some restriction the first week of each of those fills, but by the end of the second week, the restriction had waned greatly.

This is very normal. Some people get restriction from the get-go, and others, it takes a little longer. It also varies based on how much saline the doctor likes to use with your fills. Some doctors are more aggressive than others.

I just had my third fill today (8 cc total in a 14 cc band). I am just starting to really feel the restriction now. My dr also informed me today that with some patients the band size can play a role in how fast you do feel restriction. Oh, after my first fill (4 cc) I did feel some restriction for about 1-2 weeks then it just disappeared one day. I knew it was time for another. You will get there. I just "got there" today

I'm not sure of my band size but I do know that I only have 4.something cc's in the band after fill #1. My doctors policy is at least a month between fills so I'm stuck here for the next three weeks. I was just hoping for more restriction than this. I feel like I am constantly hungry!

I had no restriction after surgery, none after first fill, and none after second fill. Third fill - OH BOY, do I have restriction. I have 5.9 cc's in my 10 cc band. I know it is hard to keep making good choices when you don't have restriction, but hang in there and try to keep focused on why you did this. I will be sending you positive hang in there thoughts!!!! Good luck to you! Becky

I am three weeks out and I don't have any restriction either. I find that you have to remember not to drink with your meals and that helps to stay fuller longer. My Doctor says that during the times that you do not have restriction to eat 6 small meals a day to stay full. Hang in there, I'm have a time too, just keep the end results and why we are here in mind.....

I had 5cc's put in on the 9th--about 4 weeks post op, also not really any restriction.

I've got an appointment for March 9th and I'm hoping for something.

I think it's pretty common Emily--we all just need to hang in there--sucks, but I guess it'll come with time

Yes, I know what you were talking about! first week after the fill, it was pretty good. during that week I lost 5 lbs, was so excited, but now I have stalled, nothing going on but hunger:scared2:. I called my doc's office next date available is Mar. 20th....OMG that seems like a long time away!

I have to be very careful with the portions, because it goes down, and the feeling of "full" just doesnt come!! Good luck to us, we need to stay focused and choose carefully.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
