shopaholic/spendaholic/debt

I posted under a heading of transfered addictions earlier on another sight - the general one on here. I know i need to go on a 12 step type of program. Was going to get a note book and allow myself say $30 A WEEK to spend, if i dont spend it it adds up. Keep telling myself , or i should say asking myself do i really need it,or do i just want it as it is a good price, trying to turn from clothes food shopping to towels, sheets etc. Anyone out there had the same prob. Any advice ,reading material, etc. greatly appreciated.:confused:n

Hi I am an addict in general (drugs, alcohol, food, and definetely shop therapy). If I have it - I spend it. If I dont have it, I find a way to get it and then spend it. I am going to a financial class at church that they are having once a week and what I did last pay period was sit down and write out my budget and then i took out the money i needed for utilities in cash and paid the bills. i set aside money for gas and groceries (in cash) and put my card away. ( i am a swiper). Whatever was left over I could spend on whatever I wanted. It felt good and I didnt have that sick feeling in my gut when I didnt know how much money I had left.

Thank you so much for your advice, have been watching tv program from america - till debt do use part, the cash seems to be the way to go, will do what you are doing. There is no debtors help in western australia - yes at one stage the catholic church had one group meeting, but alas not anymore, will keep trying to track down a group, support to talk to, and to know it is not just me -- yep i have a compulsive personality i decided. All the best with your weightloss. And thanks again for sharing what works for you -- will definately try.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
