Can someone help explain this to me?

Hi....

I was banded a year ago and have done really well...I was within 3 pounds of goal when I got the stomach flu. I was really vomiting and went in to get unfilled (my band is tilted slightly, although not slipped. This was found via a CT scan). I had 4cc taken out, which brought me to 3cc, basically my first fill. This was done 2 weeks ago.

Since then, I have gained almost 14 pounds. What is going on??? Can I eat more? Yes, but not nearly what I would have eaten. Plus, I am still being good regarding the rules. It seems to me that if I go over 5-600 calories per day I am gaining. I don't understand this. It is so frustrating!! Can someone help explain this to me?

Perhaps it is from fluids. When I have had the flu I have lost major amounts of Fluid, which makes me lose between 10-12 pounds. As soon as I started eating and drinking normally again I will gain that weight back.

I am glad you are feeling better. The flu is horrible!

I agree it's probably rehydrating, and maybe a pound or so of "weight". Almost ANY rapid huge gain (or loss) like that is Water.< /p>

I had a stomach virus the first week of November, couldn't vomit and ended up in the emergency room and then the hospital for 3 days. I had a complete unfill until 2 weeks ago and had 2cc put back in ( I was at 5cc before I got sick, I hadn't gained until I recieved the fill,) now I can't seem to get full, I have gained 5 pounds the last 2 weeks...why didn't the doctors go ahead a put the whole 5cc's back in?? I am confused. THE FLU WAS DEFINITELY THE WORST EVER!!!Not being able to vomit was the worst feeling!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
