CONGRATES! to all getting there band in January. I wish everyone the best.

I am having a very hard time with this two day liquid diet, it is killing me not to be able to eat real food. If you know what I mean. Now I know why they called this bandster hell sometimes.

I'm jealous. I'm on day 5 of 14 liquid pre-op. Good luck you are almost there.

On day eight of ten day pre-op diet. Clear fluids only. Aaarrghhh!

Okay, so if I chew up some food and spit it out will that be considered cheating??? What about just licking a block of cheese for a few minutes? Just kidding...kind of. Pre-op diet is torture, especially when you walk in on your metabolically gifted husband munching on one of the many fried cheese sticks he has piled in front of him. Tomorrow's Headline - "Starved Woman Decapitates Husband with Cheese Stick!"

I bet I could plead insanity.

Hey Picklehead, good luck on your surgery! Keep up your sense of humor! I know you will be just fine, let us know how it goes. I am waiting, not very patiently, for my turn on the 19th. Cara/OP

Wow, I have it good. 14 days but with yogurt, pudding , applesauce and tomato juice or v-8.

mmmmmm.....the headline sounds like head cheese.

Thanks soontobeme.

I always try to laugh instead of crying. Life is funny. Thanks for the good wishes. Surgery is tomorrow at 12:30pm. Trying not to stress, but I probably won't sleep too much. I am just ready to be done. They're keeping me overnight, so I should be back online by Thursday evening. If I have any new insights after surgery I will definitely share. If anyone has any questions after I get banded, toss them my way and I'll answer what I can.

Take care all!

Hello All! I am getting banded on Thursday, January 22nd at 8:30am by Dr. Benavides in Dallas (Richardson) Texas! I can't wait....what a great start to this new year......

Definitely going to look fine in 2009!!!!

I am supposed to be banded 1/15/09 as long as everything at my surgeons office goes right! I am starting my pre-op diet and its pretty easy 1000 calories. No liquid only for me which I am learning to value very much from reading other peoples posts. Congrats and good luck to all the New Year Hotties!

wow! there are so many january bandsters out there! good luck to all of you! i'm joining you on the 27th. keep us posted & keep up the good spirits!

I get banded on Friday - anxiously awaiting a call tomorrow to find out what time to be at the hospital. I was supposed to be banded Nov 3, but the surgeon's assistant messed up. I now have a new surgeon and new assistant to work with.

I'm excited and nervous:crying:

My goodness. I wasn't allowed hardly any carbs. Okay, I call less than thirty grams of total carbs "hardly any." Can't complain about it, though. It's a fairly easy diet to live with, and doc prefers his patients stay below thirty grams per day for the rest of their lives, if possible. Should be relatively easy, since many high-carb foods would clog our stoma. Having had one experience with a minor obstruction, I never want to do that again!
