  1. Thanks hun, I am more determend now, Im very lucky to have a baby out of this & to get back into control again.. They said its a common thing for a band to leak, I just wished i'd gone back way before now & i don't know why i didn't, I think i just got back into my bad old ways
  2. Hi everyone i was banded about 4 yrs ago, i lost nearly 7 stone in 9 months, then had a baby & hes 20 months old now, ive been slowly putting ALL of the weight back on again I went to the hospital today to find out the reason for it... Its because its leaking & ive got to go back to have day surgery for a new port I feel sooo angry for allowing myself to put all the weight back on again.. But ive got to lose the weight again for the sake of my baby, i owe it to him to get fitter/healthier, but i feel so ashamed & low.
  3. I totally relate to this story .. I find i can eat 1 sausage & thats all i can manage, I blamed the band, but it wasnt the bands fault, It was there waiting to be used again & i ignored it & its my fault i have put the weight back on sometimes we just need to re-educate ourselves again good luck to all again
  4. Hi i too had my band done 3 years ago & i lost 88lbs, but then a miracle happened, I had a baby, I was told all my life i couldnt have babies, I too have put about 60lbs back on through my pregnancy & having a slipped disc in my back I called the hospital today & the lovely nurse has booked me in for an xray to check my band I have a 14cc band & had 9cc fluids in 3yrs ago, not sure if its all there now? Today ive changed my eating habit to when i first had the band, & i havnt felt hungry at all & i actually felt restriction again, first time in a very long time I got into a bad habit of eating the wrong foods & drinking at meal times & too much alcohol... Ive had to remind myself this is a TOOL, & its only going to work again if i help it, If i dont help it then i can't expect it to help me
  5. Im nearly 22 weeks pregnant with 9cc in a 14cc band, i dont have an unfill, ive put on 15lbs in 15 weeks, which is spot on for pregnancy, as long as you watch what you eat, & get the vitamins required
  6. mine too calories are low with a 6.5 in my band.. im eating between 700-900 if i have wine
  7. Have you tried eating your meat first (slowly) then wait a min or two before moving onto other foods? this might fill you up a bit more so you dont need to carry on eating, But i also agree with the others it sounds like you need more restriction in your band?
  8. Try walking about as much as you can, it can come & go very quickly, the more you move the easier it becomes, some people take pain relief or heat pads
  9. I have 6.5 mills in my band & i can still eat bread, i choose wholegrain cos thats what i love, my bariatric nurse told me if i can eat ALL foods then the band is working properly, I was told we are not restricted to foods, just eat much less of them, foods are only bad when eaten in large quantities, i eat all the foods i did do before being banded & i must be doing something right as ive lost A LOT of weight & my cholesterol gone from 7.4 to 5.0 & ive been told im healthy now :smile2:
  10. I have a 14cc band & have in 6.5, for the first time i have restriction
  11. I had my surgery January 21st 09, & im down 84 lbs (5 months) I have listened to EVERYTHING that the nurses/doctors/surgeons tell me & do it.. i go to the gym 3 times a week, 30 min cardio then swim 15-20 lengths.. im on my 3rd fill.. 6.5 mills & NOW i have restriction with my band & loving it :blushing:
  12. 1st fill no problems, took her one go & it was in, 2nd fill though diff nurse & took her like 30 goes & had to get the original nurse to do it again & was left with a huge black bruise (size o your palm).. so hoping 3rd time lucky in 2 weeks time
  13. Breakfast = cornflakes with s.s.milk Lunch = chilli with potatoes Dinner = steak, mashed potatoes, veg & an egg
  14. That is exactly how i am too.. mines a L..O..N..G LOUD frog type noise...I only do the one & straight after ive eaten..never fails
  15. Ive got 7lbs more to lose then im getting my belly button pierced & a small tattoo on my wrist.. something in writing to symbolise what ive been through Were also going on a boat 3rd august for a week with both mums & our dogs, then maybe in september go abroad for a week & wear a bikini..yeahhhhh... I would like to go to Kenya but prob next year as we need more than a week there, so maybe Greece as the beaches are beautiful, fresh food & lots of fish
  16. wow your lucky, just think your not going to see your scars when your slimmer... i have 5, but im ok with that.. theyre getting smaller with my weight loss :cursing:
  17. I hadnt lost any weight on the scale for 3 weeks, But have lost inches & im more pleased about that, as at least people can see the fat fading away, they cant on the scales, only us... But woke today & ive lost 3lbs on the scales..beats me.. im just pleased either way that im losing :purplebananna:
  18. congratulations reaching your goal, im certainly looking forward to reaching mine or beyond it, it feels so wonderful to start feeling normal again
  19. I too agree, you should be able to eat ALL foods or the band isnt working properly, i eat steak 3-4 times a week, there is NO foods i can not eat, just in smaller portion sizes, ive been having BBQ's, I hear people say they cant even eat chicken?, i steam mine & its lovely & moist, hope you get your band sorted out soon so your not having to go without foods you enjoy
  20. I got told by my surgeon, 15 mins prior & 1 hour after to not to drink, i dont miss drinking with meals at all now since being banded, & i could never eat a meal without a drink.. I have squashes, or j20, coffee, water, latte, wine
  21. I eat ALL foods, just in a lot smaller size, thats the whole point of having the band i got told, so were not deprived of ANY foods, i was taught there is NO bad foods, just bad choices people have made with portion sizes
  22. some nights i can drink one glass & im drunk then other times i can have 2 glasses.. i used to be able to drink a bottle & not have much effect... i believe its cos im not having much food to soak it all up
  23. mines on my left side too
  24. I would have said its too soon to go, as how do you know you are going to be up for all that walking/standing about, & the others are going to be eating, drinking, going on rides having a good time when you might be in pain/discomfort & over do it just for the sake of it, I would go for my OP, to me thats more important & catch up with his sister another time, im sure she will understand?
