Just got my banding date, Jan. 15, 2009. Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. I live in Bucks County. Any other January '09 banders or Temple patients out there?

Good luck, I'm set for 1/15 and ready to start pre-op diet.

My dr didn't put me on a pre-op diet, just 2 days prior to surgery I'm on clear liquids. They said "don't gain" and didn't require a diet. Is that unusual I wonder? From what I've read here, some do and some don't. Confusing!

It depends on your shape. It's supposed to shrink your liver to make the procedure easier, maybe it's not a factor for you, good luck

you all will do great I was scared too, but besides the gas its not so bad.. Just keep thinking that this is the first day of the rest of your life....:}

I was banded in January of 2008 and it has been an incredible year. I was able to lose almost 100% of my excess weight in less than a year . . . so banding has been wonderful and truly a blessing.

I'm also a January Bandster-having it done at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY, January 13th-Dr. Bryce Schuster. I'm going for my pre-ops tomorrow. Then I'll be doing the liquid diet starting on January 6th-I'm a bit cranky when I don't get to eat real food so I feel sorry for the rest of my family!! I can't believe how many people are getting this done! I wish everyone the best.
