  1. Buggie- I am just 2 weeks post op and have lost weight but from what I read here it might be your body going into starvation mode. Hard to believe if we are eating less and eating mostly Protein we might be gaining weight. I am starting to do some research on this as I am affraid it will happen to me. I can tell you everyone that has commented on it says it is common in the very 6 to 8 weeks after sirgery and once you start getting adjustments it will change things. Hope this bit of info helped. Maybe a more experienced bandster will comment. All the best
  2. Not regreted it one bit. I even had some very small complications but well worth how I am feeling just 3 weeks out. Best of luck
  3. Oh my gosh my port bothers me too! I am 3 weeks out as well. I feel your pain but I try to remember this is the worse we will feel and it will get better from here. All the best everyone
  4. Oh forgot to mention my follow up is Jan 22nd but saw my primary care doc yesterday . My blood pressure was too low in the hospital so I was told to go see hime. He took me off my blodd pressure meds! That is when I found out I lost 20 pounds. Yippie. :tt2:
  5. Hi Lena thanks, its nice to be on this side of the surgery. Discovering its not so bad. Its nice not to feel hungry anymore and I have already lost 20 pounds. I am very excited. Enjoy your day
  6. Hi ya Peanut- did not realize we were bandits on the same day. Nice to be in good company. I feel good and have lost 20 pounds since my pre op diet on Jan 1. all the best while you heal
  7. Hi I was banded January 8th and I have to agree with what the majority is saying. Anything that could happen is far better then what will happen if you do not loose weight. I had some very monor complications but that would not stop me from doing it again. This is more then just how you feel physically, mentally I think it is much harder. You have to be open to discover things about yourself and habbits. Willing to make the commitment once you do you will never look back All the best
  8. Hey all I am offically banded. It happend Jan 8th. Recovering at home and doing ok. Glad to be on this journey and wishing all the rest of you all the best as you go in for surgery. It will all be a distant memory soon. Holler anyone if you need some support. I was scared but it was all smooth... all the best Banded January 8th!
  9. Today is day 5 so I feel at least I am on the down swing and it has gotten easier. My husband has been really good at closet eating. I bearly know when he is eating and my friends at a gathering over the weekence were amazing. At a normal event there is food and booze everywhere. I was neverous going but there was nothing with in sight . And I never saw anyone eat anything. Later I learned when I was in another room they passed the Snacks and I never was the wiser. It was really great to have a night with my friends and feel so supported. I can not expect them not to eat, I have a great group in my corner. I know we can all do this, for me I keep thinking there is not way I want to have the surgery and wake up not banded. I would be crushed. That is what keeps me from cheating. Todays challenge work, why do people eat at their desk instead of the many areas available to? I might beat some one with a fork if they have something that smells good. Watch for the headlines, pre op fattie beats co worker for sandwhich..... LOL Have a great day all
  10. Hello All This is my second post and I am scheduled to be banded on January 8th. So I am in the middle of my pre surgery diet. I want to say that it is so wonderful to have a community to support this process. ALthough nothing takes the place of my support system here at home. They are all so wonderful. What poeple have shared here has been so very helpful. It was nice to see that others are so hungry! I am starving but commited and know this all will pass. But heck this is hard! It should be I wish everyone strength to get through this and if you need help its nice to know we are all just a click away. All the best
