New with a question

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for Lap Band on Tuesday Nov 18th. I am so tired of my weight be up and down all my life I feel that this may help me live the rest of my life healthier.

One question that I have is that my doctor usually puts in a pain pump that nums the abdomen for a few days. Since I have such a high pain threshold I opted out. Any comments on my decision?

Thanks

Mary

I didn't have a pain pump. I was on a morphine PCA pump while in the hospital ( a patient controlled analgesic through the IV). You should be ok. I was sent home on liquid lortab.

I did not have a pain pump, I was in alot of pain, but I think that might have made it much more complicated and worse. Just a tip, make sure you get your scheduled fills after to get best results! Good Luck! I took a nasal spray pain medicine which was great and worked well.

I am scheduled for surgery this Thursday. My Doctor said that I would go home with a small bulb of pain medication that will go directly into the port incision. It should last about two days and when empty it just slides out. I did not see a reason the refuse it, I rely on him to be the expert in this area. And if it decreases the pain so I can get up and moving sooner all the better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
