  1. Congrats to you, but I do think that that many do this becuase they want to prevent themselves from getting so unhealthy that they end up where you are. I do not think that one should have to wait until they have one foot in the grave to make this decision. It's all about wanting to live healthier at any stage. Glad to have you as an example of someone that has been sucessful.
  2. Most Tender Pot Roast Chuck Roast 10 oz of Coke (never made it with diet coke, but you probably could) 1 pk dry brown gravy mix (mix with a TB Water to make a paste) 1 pk lipton onion soup mix 1 Can cream of mush soup 2-3 TB of crushed Garlic I double this becuase my kids like extra gravy....I make rice or mashed potatoes for the gravy. meat just shreads, so yummy!!!

  4. I was worried my baby was not getting enough nutrition, but my dr. said not to worry the baby will get all it needs even if it pulls from my fat stores....he thinks this is what was happening b/c I was feeling so drained and had no energy. He said I was the one not getting enough nutrition. So he took out 2 cc (already took out 1.6 2 months before) and immediatley my energy level was back up and I feel like I can eat heathier b/c I am not supplementing with unhealthy things like milkshakes. Talk to you llapband doc....that relly helped me.
  5. Thank you for sharing.....this is something I have wondered about. I was so curious what would happen if the band slipped during pregnan! I hope you, your wife, and the baby are all doing well. Good lukc to your family!
  6. I feel exactly the same, I am 8 weeks, gained 4 pounds so far and freaked out! I am so sick of everyone saying it is normal to gain weight, its baby weight, and everything will be fine....ugh....no one around me knows what it feels like to struggle your entire life, make the decision and go through all that we go through during and after surgey and the fears of gaining it all again and going thru this crazy fight to get it off again!!! I have been so very down, my OB is giving me a list of docs to talk to during this time b/c I am getting so dipressed. I am sorry you band had to be let out completely. They only took 1.6 cc out of mine and I can eat alot more but still too tight to hopefully gain....my band doc is keeping a close eye on me and willing to fill and unfill as much as possible to make sure I ONLY gain baby weight and no fat....talk to your band doc, maybe soon you can try refilling a little at a time. Hang in there, your not alone.....
  7. I am 8.5 in my 14 cc band and I am a week from my anniversary. My husband feels I am too tight and I feel like I could go .1 or .2 more.

  15. Glad you are back, nice to see a fellow Army wife. I am so sorry yur DH is being deployed again. I know how tough it is, My DH has been home for a year now from his last deployment and hopefully it will be awhile again since we are now at a non-deployable unit. Good luck to you!!! Ang
  16. I did not have mine in Mexico, and mine was approved by insurance, but I am a military wife and move often......this situation is the case no matter if you had it in Mexico or not, I had a heck of a time finding a doc that would take me in Virginia after having surgery in Colorado. Also, I had to pay higher fees too! Doctors do not like to work with other doctors work in any case, not just Lap-band. I agree with the others, do research BEFORE you have surgery!!
