Hi Friends!

My name is dave, I was banded last Saturday, 11/8, in Mexicali by Dr. Aceves. Everything went fine I guess. I'm still on liquids and have lost 10 lbs. I'm very excited about this opportunity to change my life. I'm 41 years old with 3 kids and a wonderful wife. I've been a chef for 25 years so I think the hardest part of this will be staying away from bad (GOOD!) food. I think this is a wonderful forum and I'm very greatful to have found it and all the support and encouagement that is found within it's pages.

Welcome to you Dave, from Sunny Sacramento, CA!! Most importantly, Congratulations on your banding! This place is great for the support, and I couldn't have done it without all the great information found here.

Hope to see you around!

PS, do you have any preparation ideas for lap band friendly dishes??

Hi Irene!

Over the years I have collected 1000's of recipes and I thought it would be a good idea to go through them and convert them to Bandster recipes! I'll keep you posted. How do you make the little weight lost chart everyone has at the bottom of their post?

Dave, I am attaching a link to the ticker tutorial. It should guide you through posting a ticker here. :D

That sounds great about the food recipes! Definitely keep me posted. Feel free to contact me anytime if you need help with anything. That is what we are all here for.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
