New/Nouveau!!!Dr. Marc Savoie, Bathurst N.B.

Hi Geneviève,

Thank you so much to let me posted on Keith's surgery. I'm so happy that everything went well. I'm glad he was one of the patient who were able to stay for the night. Like they say, "Better be safe than sorry. Most of all, you're telling me he is in good spirits and it's one of the main thing.

I sure would be pleased to go for a coffee and maybe answering some questions Keith might have. As you say, we're not staying far from each other.

I'll say it over and over again, I don't regret for a second to say yes for my surgery. For me it's a miracle coming true.

Pierrette:)

I don't think Keith has any regrets either. I asked him when he woke up from the anesthesia and later on last night and he seemed happy about getting the surgery, no regrets whatsoever. I am happy that he feels that way. It is going to make the transition easier for him and for our family.

I just got off the phone with him, he is tired. He had a semi-private room just in front of the nurse station and he said they were loud all night. He got no sleep at all. I have the feeling he will be sleeping quite a bit when he gets home to peace and quiet. But besides being tired he is feeling well. He has not taken any pain medications yet. He says that the pain isn't bad enough to take anything. (Maybe he is just being stubborn too.. ha!ha!). Well with that being said, I'm going to head down to the hospital and wait with him for Dr. Savoie to make his rounds. I am pretty sure Keith will be posting on here later on today!!!

Bonjour Keith,

Tu n'y vas pas avec le dos de la cuillère . .

Hi everyone. I was wondering how many times you have to see Dr. Savoie before you get your surgery date. I've had all the blood work done and saw Dr. Savoie back in January. Then I had a follow up with him in early Sept/09. He explained the surgery and said he'd see me again in a month. My next appt is Oct 19/09. Is this when I will go on the boost?

Thanks :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
