What are everyone's weight loss goals?

Recommended Posts

Are most of you just happy to get to a healthy BMI or do you have an ultimate fantasy goal? I think I would be happy to get to a 25 BMI but I will be honest.....I would REALLY love to be back to my pre-fat days weight. Is that realistic? Have many of you reached that ultimate goal?

Thanks for any insight.

I was banded in Jan of 08 and had a BMI of 40. I have lost 57lbs and am now at a BMI of 30. I have not really set a goal for my BMI. At this point I still want to lose another 39lbs which would put me at 150-151 at 5 ft 6 with a large frame bone structure. I just try to set small attainable goals of wt loss as I go along. More importantly I set goals for exercise and journaling which is the key to my success. I do not have restriction yet and am really trying to make changes in myself and just let the band be kind of a helper and not the end all be all. Good luck to you though and I am so happy I had the surgery. It is not as easy as I thought it would be but it is easier than anything I have ever done prior. Kind of complicated but when dealing with food issues it is a complicated process.

I would love to lose half my weight -- 145 pounds. However, it's hard to tell what will be ideal for me at this age, so I'll deal with the numbers when I get there. In high school I was 120, so I don't think it's unrealistic to add 25 pounds or so to that number. If I luck out, I'll be a little less than 145.

My goal is 110-114 (BMI 19-20) because I have a really bad back (I have big boobs). But I know that I will have loose skin at that weight. Or my other goal is 123 and a breast reduction. Haven't decided yet.

My goal is 132. I started at 227, was banded on 12/12 and as of this morning I only need to lose 15 more!!!

The last is the hardest, I have only lost 10 pounds since June. I am hoping to hit goal by my 1 year...we will see though!!

At 23 years old, with a four year old daughter, I was only 54kg (119lb). I know I will never get back to that again (I'm 46 now) and I wouldn't want to. I think I would look unhealthy and gaunt at that weight now. I'm aiming for between 60 and 65kg (132 - 143lb), but to be honest, I'd be thrilled with anything under 70kg (155lb). I'm over half way there and already feeling so much better about how I look, not to mention feeling 10 times healthier!

My goals have changed over time. First one was to get to BMI 24.9. Then it was 80kgs. Now I want to get to 161 pounds. Can't really explain why they've changed, they just have. I think that the reason may be that I gave myself a year to lose the weight, so I'll fill a year up and see where it takes me.

I just hope to maintain that weight when I get there.

I really should be at like 170lbs for my height (5'9"), but I am just trying to get to 200lbs right now. I started this whole thing at 300lbs and am now down to 269 with no restriction yet. Eventhough I am still fat as hell, I do feel much better already. I think I can lose that 69lbs. In fact I'm bound and determined to do it. When I get to 200lbs, maybe I'll go further, but I'm not counting on that right now.

I lost 140 pounds when I was 28 and weighed 165. A couple of years ago I lost weight and my lowest was 184. I am tall so at 184 I am not fat, well not obese anyway, LOL. I wear a 10 pants and a 14 blouse at that weight. So...this time I want to get down to 170, which is not as low as when I was 28, but low enough that I could gain a few, lose a few and still be OK. I am not sure if I will ever look at myself and not see fat. I am always hard on myself when it comes to looking in the mirror.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
