What would happen if Barack Obama were Assasinated?

Hello I'm TheWatcher You may remember me from such memorable threads like Are we ready for a Black President and others.

I was recently messaged by someone; and this individual asked me a question that i has been thinking about since Barack started his run for the White House. Barack Obama has energized and motivated the Black Community of American like no one has since the Civil Rights movement and Some in the Black Community and still apathetic, Pessimistic if you will and dont believe whats happening. I may share my responce that i gave later... but for now i Pose this question.

What would happen toin America If Barack Obama was to fall to a Assasins Bullet?

It may be a frightening notion but it already has legs a Assasination attempt was foiled before the DNC acceptance speech. So please Share your views, fears, or anything that this topic beings up to your mind that you would like to discuss. If the questions are there, this is as good of a place as any other to get them answered.

Oh, after the election Beth will likely be pissing in the cornflakes of anyone she comes across who is a Democrat/socialist/liberal.... LOL

Won't need to. If the Obamanation wins, he and his socialist policies will be pissing on everyone plenty. He now thinks he can change the world. Silly little messiah. :cool2:

Have you researched Senator McCain's ethnic background? What about Sarah Palin's and Joe Biden's? I'm sure if you've researched theirs, it will take you no time to come up with the sources and links.

Typical liberal technique: change the subject. Quick! When the facts are against you, divert attention!

This is an hilarious exchange.

BJean, don't go into the light! Look away! Remember that you are a lap band talker not a poser.

A lap band talker comes for wls support and may post on a controversial thread for recreation.

A poser only posts on controversial threads. There is no lap band talk left in them!

How can you spot a poser ? If their last 130-140 posts were to political or controversial threads not only have they gone into the light, they are the gate keeper.

BJean, I know its hard not to respond to some of the stuff that gate keepers post. But, it's all part of an intricate plot to change your focus from wl support. I am right here with you girl. I struggle to remain silent sometimes.

Now promise me that you will not get too sucked in. Promise? OK Good.

BJean misinterprets -- "Are you attacking me?????"

You're monitoring people's posts? Oh my what's that about?

Not that you asked, but just so's you'll know... I have had my band for 2 years. For over 2 years I have read and posted about the good and bad, the problems and successes of trying to get and having a Lap Band. Personally I have reached a point where my band and I are one with the universe. Umkay?

And aprilapple responds -- "Oops, sorry! Misfire! Even though there are both liberals and conservatives who post a lot in R&R, I only meant to attack the conservatives!"

Bjean, its's unfortunate that you took my post in the wrong way. I was not calling YOU a poser. I actually agree with most of your posts. I was just commenting on how one can be provoked to respond to some of the nonsense that is posted on these threads. Very unfortunate that you misinterpreted what I was trying to communicate...

That'll teach me to keep quiet.

So BJean responds -- "Oh, now that I know you were only intending to attack conservatives, even though what you said could equally apply to me as well, carry on. You have my blessing."

aa: sorry I misinterpreted your post. I'm so used to everybody attacking me, I find myself always on the defense.

. . .

Carry on aa, you're doing much better than I did when exchanging viewpoints with Beth.

You guys crack me up. :cool2:

Gadget, this thread was a more pleasant place to be while you were away today.

If bjean, beth, and myself have moved on, why can't you?

You are right, it was a misfire. It was not meant for Beth or Bjean. It was originally meant for you.

Poser-one who pretends or poses as something else. Ex. posing as a person who has had wls or is interested in wls but really likes to engage in conflict and talk plenty of cyber bullshiggity!

I bet that didn't misfire.

You're so kind. You must just win friends and influence people with your cheery disposition.

I knew that. It was quite obvious -- to me, at least.

Oh, no, you were very clear. You don't like me because I refuse to give in to your liberal blather, so instead you just attack me personally. I get it. It's very clear. It's a typical liberal response, as well, and I'm quite used to it.

For the record, I'm not "posing as a person who has had wls or is interested in wls". I have had wls, thankyouverymuch.

Still funny, though, that BJean thought you were accusing her of "really liking to engage in conflict and talk plenty of cyber buiishiggity" (whatever that is). She should have known: liberals never attack other liberals.

It is also still funny that once she knew you weren't talking about her, she encouraged you to continue on. I see you took her at her word.

I could care less that you are a conservative and I am definitely not trying to persuade you to believe otherwise. As far as not liking you, I don't know you. I only know how you represent yourself through your posts.

I could care less that you are a conservative

Awww, methinks the "lady" doth protest too much. I suspect if someone were to go back and revisit our past written interactions, they might quite easily divine that the conflict is all about the divergence in our political positions.

Once again, these political threads are getting too heated. I for one can't wait for the elections to be over and hopefully we can all move on then. In the meantime, please stick to the topic and take the arguing amongst yourselves to pm so we don't have to close this thread to those who are actually interested in debating the idea as opposed to launching personal attacks upon one another.

Thank you.

Beth you keep saying you don't like either one but you only denigrate Seantor Obama. I don't recall your railing on about Senator McCain. I'm sure you said something early on in an effort to convince someone that you are a true middle of the roader, what did you say, Libertarian? Hardly middle of the road.

gadget you speak ridiculousness. I didn't change the subject. I expanded on your chosen topic. What's the matter, can't come up with the ethnic backgrounds of anyone else running for office? I'm just sayin's all.

april I think you may have hit the proverbial nail on the head in your use of the word, poser. I think I could abide some of the extremism I've encountered here if people would just admit why they say the things they say - why they toss out words like socialism, genetic background, Arab, socialism, and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. And they want us to think that it has nothing to do with race when they both bring that into the discussion. Who they, bigoted? Of course the color of a person's skin has nothing to do with anything..... yeah, right.

Jack, I've been the lone ranger here for at least a couple of days. I didn't accuse anyone of attacking me for just stating their political views.

But guys, I didn't mean to kill the buzz. It was getting very humorous and I am glad!!! It's gotten way too intense and although it allowed for some spleen venting, and some really nutty links, it was getting way too repetitive. How many ways can you explain what socialism really means? I have a feeling that if Webster came up out of his grave and defined socialism for the Republicans, they STILL wouldn't stop misusing it.

Palin came to my area today. I thought it was rather funny...because...this is a college area and Obama signs are everywhere...lol even more went up when we found out Friday that she was coming today. Oh Sarah what wonderful words you spoke today...your stupidity just got Obama more votes on Tuesday.

Not too tough. You just have to enter the person's name and the word "geneology" in a web search. Some you might be able to easily guess, like Biden's being Irish Catholic, and so forth. What I was discussing is that Obama's followers often feel there is a commonality in considering him "African-American", while he is not "African-American" in the normal understanding of the term (descended from West Indies Africans brought over as slaves).

april I think you may have hit the proverbial nail on the head in your use of the word, poser.

Yeah, now that you know she's not talking about you, of course, she's free to use and promote the idea.

What a joke. It comes back to bigotry, doesn't it? If you don't agree with Obama or point out anything about him that isn't PC, you must be a bigot.

If I told someone I had Italian ancestry and they said they did too, I would then be quite surprised for them to tell me they were from Germany. If they told me they considered themselves Italian because Germany used to be under control of the Roman Empire, I would say, "Gee, most people who are German don't commonly define themselves as Italian."

If I were running for political office and someone started calling me the first "Greek-American" running, they might be technically correct (because most Italians have some Greek blood), but I wouldn't accept the label because it would not be true as we understand the term "Italian-American" and "Greek-American".

You can call me a bigot and a racist until the cows come home; that doesn't make it true. In fact, I would counter-claim that you are the real racist, because Obama's actual geneology seems to disturb you quite greatly.

Edited by gadgetlady

What is disturbing is that it came up at all. And I am certainly not the one who brought it up.

You didn't bring it up because you thought that if Senator Obama has some Arab blood it is just an interesting little tidbit, like he grew up with his grandparents, or his mother died young. You brought it up because it allowed you to claim that he is an Arab. Under the circumstances of our Middle East involvement, you know, just like that little bushy haired lady at the McCain rally, that it is a scary thought that an actual Arab might be running for president here in America. I don't buy your claim that you brought it up because it had to do with how mistaken people are for calling him an African American. In fact I hope you didn't really expect anyone to believe that hogwash.

Truth is, it was done for the same reason they brought up the robust exaggeration of Senator Obama's relationship with a man who is a Palestinian sympathizer. They've brought that up because they are sure that people who support Israel in this country would find that distasteful.

But it backfired. Just like so many of the dirty tricks that Republicans have pulled this time. Turns out that McCain's been involved with the same man - and was even involved with William Ayres in making a $400,000 contribution to that scary man's Palestinian research. Makes you wonder if McCain doesn't have some Arab blood coursing through his veins.

As I've said before, I don't know who in McCain's camp is responsible for all the misinformation and lies, but it's almost like they are working for the other party - because most of it has turned out to be blatant lies or things that McCain himself has done. And I believe that it has mostly hurt McCain's chances. At least with people who are not extremists, and who seriously want the kinds of change that Senator Obama represents.

Not all African Americans are descended from West Indian slaves. Many slaves came directly from West Africa (after stopping at ports through out the Caribbean , of course).

West Indian slaves were not encouraged to have have children. Their single lot in life was to be worked to death (this was considered the most brutal type of slavery). It was cheaper to buy new slaves from Africa.

Slaves brought to North America were bought, sold, and bred to work and have offspring. It was too expensive to buy slaves from Africa.

Although this clarification is not relevant to the topic, I had to interject it because I got tired of reading how you are an African -American if you are a descendant of the descendants of West Indian slaves.

Just because people post things here and call them facts does not mean that they are indeed so.
