When were you cleared to EXCERCISE!

Recommended Posts

Hello bandsters, when were you cleared to excercise (other than walking which I know is right away)?

I think mine is 6 weeks but I've seen people on the board who have been excercising as early as 4 weeks post op. I am going to do what my Doc says but the one thing that I like about these boards is that you can see how every doc does the same thing differently.

I just think if doc says wait 6 wks that there must be a reason like your body is still healing. Please share with me what you know and think.:)

I was cleared at 4 weeks for Water aerobics and that was so my incisions would heal before I got back in the pool. I would not do anything like riding a bike though. When I went in for my 3rd fill, my port had flipped and I had to go back to surgery to have it repositioned. I rode a stationary bike a little before 4 weeks, I am not sure what caused the flip, but I will wait 8 weeks before doing that again. Now I am out of water aerobics again for 3 more weeks. I do walk though.

Mine said walk immediately but wait to 2 weeks to go back to the gym. Avoid weight bearing exercises for as long as you aren't supposed to lift things (in my case 2 months)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
