You can get the Gas X Srtips in any supermarket, Walmart etc.. - they are sold near the Tums

Thanks so much! I will have to get some before surgery.

Hi everyone,

Best of luck to everyone being banded soon and congrats to those already banded. I was banded on 4th November and was one of the lucky ones to have virtually no pain and a quick recovery. My port scar is nearly completely healed and apart from getting a bit itchy causes me no problems at all. From the time I got out of recovery I have only had a few asprin and haven't had any pain meds at all. I started mushies on the weekend and what a pleasure it was to have some 'real food' - if you can call it that as it was put through a blender.

I had to do a 2 week preop diet and lost 10pds. Went back to the dietician on the weekend and have lost another 10.5pds since surgery. I am still not feeling hungry and am just eating at the required times. My dietician tells me I should start feeling hungry again around week 4.

Once again, good luck to everyone being banded and I wish you all a speedy and painless recovery.

Hi I am having the surgery Nov 28th you will all be done by then so keep me posted on how it is going.

Kirsty

Good luck to everyone who is having surgery this week, I know there are lots of you!!! :smile2:

Down 6.6 in 10 days on the pre-op, and I don't even have a super strict one! yeehaw!

Surgery is Friday. I am fretting.

Hi, I was banded on 11/11/08, and feel great, I thought I would be in bed for a while, but not at all, going for my 1st followup on 11/19/08. Thanks be to God all is well.

Hi I am having the same problem with Gas, I was banded on 11/11/08, so the Gas X strips works, will rush out and get some soon. I am happy all is well for you and all of you who are waiting on your surgery date, God Bless all of you and good luck, remember do all that is said to do so that you will begin to feel great in no time.

I am down 10 + lbs and my surgery is tomorrow! 21 hours and counting. I am excited and nervous. Good luck to all the other November bandsters.

Good Luck to everyone having there surgeries today and this week!

I started my pre-op liquid diet today. The only problem is that I have not been a milk drinker since I was five years old. I just can't stand the taste. Unfortunately, my nutritionist wants me to drink two cups a day. :smile2:

Does anyone know of another way that I can get at least 8g of protein and 12g of carbs???? That would be without adding calories. I've tried adding sugar free chocolate syrup to it, but that was pretty disgusting. I just held my nose and drank it all down like medicine. I can and will drink it if I have to, but I sure would appreciate a substitute. I just sent my nutritionist an e-mail asking her about it. She already knows that I don't like milk. "Yuh hafta drinkit", is what she said. Barf.:ack2::crying::ack2::blink:

I'm sure you can find a protein powder at your local GNC or Vitamin Shoppe to add to your milk! My protein powders are 3g carbs, 120cals, and 25g protein! I can't drink milk by itself at all - I can't even choke it down, haha. But by adding protein powder to the milk, I have no problems. Especially if I blend it up in a Bullet with a few ice cubes - makes it kinda like a milkshake!

i just got word i am all approved for nov 25th by blue cross blue shield. I start the pre-op diet on the 18th. The clock is ticking....

congrats :smile2: !!

I am having my surgery on Wednesday! I am excited and nervous at the same time:scared2: I am leaving work today and going to buy those Gas X strips you guys have been talking so much about! Good luck to everyone today and this week and I will let you guys know how I am!!:smile2:
